I don't believe in capital punishment as a rule, but in this case I'd make an exception and burn the scum alive. Can you imagine the mentality of the human detritus that could do such a thing? I agree with you, they are almost on a par with the b@stards who lit some of the fires in the first place. |

From the pictures that are being shown here in the UK of the devastation caused by the fires, I wouldn't have thought that there was much left to steal...but if there are now looters scouring the areas and stealing what has miraculously survived, then my opinion is that they should be shot on sight. |

I think that the cops should catch all arsonists and looters; then drive them to the centre of Melbourne.
Find a main street like Swanston Street and give them the order - "ok, walk down this street and we will pick you up at the other end"
I wonder how many would survive the walk... |

They should be put into stocks and left in a main street near the fires with a big bag of rotten eggs in close proximity.
Arsonists should be hung up by their big toes over some dry bush and we can't be to barbaric so they should be given a lighter to help free their toes and what bad luck if they catch on fire in the process.. |

They're awful it is such a pathetic thing to do. These items may well be the only things that these poor people have left and these a**wholes are taking them. These items may be the only things they have and may well be something sentimental and ... well it is just pathetic. Not as bad as the arsonists... but it is just rotten. i reckon they should be sent to gaol for like 10 years on something. |

they are pathetic. To steal from people who have just lost their houses, possessions and friends/family is so wrong there isn't a way to describe it.
killing them is too easy, they should have their houses and things burnt beyond recognition and then see how they feel when people go through their rubble looking for stuff to steal. |

I think they should have to help with the total clean up of all areas and then face the victims and explain to them why they stole at a time of such devastation. Then face a lengthy jail term. |

I agree with all the above. For the bushfire victims who have lost everything and are basically refugees, to find out that someone is going through the rubble of their lives....well, it defies belief! They are looking for any jewellry that has become molten. So any gold or silver will be in a "blob" as it won't perish.
These people are scum. |

Like the arsonists they should be tied to a pole and burned alive. They are the absolute scum of the earth and don't deserve to steal any more air. |

I agree with you they need to be caught and put in jail. They are both arsonists and then do grave robbing. They are taking apart a piece of their own country's history and destroying it. |

After being ABSOLUTELY certain they are not just the residents that have snuck in to look for their own treasured possessions - shoot them. |

I think it is bad enough when people break into properties but this is beyond belief how low can people sink. The problem is that what should be done with them is different to what will happen to them. They will most likely get away with a slap on the wrist.I think that they should get jail time for sure. |

How about sending them to Carlton and getting a certain Irish player to practice ball kicking on them? |
