Ok, I live in Queensland and we have quite a number or venemous friends that share our home - but don't let that out you off.

Depending on where you go in Qld, you could be exposed to:

Red Back Spiders
Snakes - assorted and with varying degrees of venom
Cone Shells
Stone Fish
Blue Ringed Octopus
Box Jellyfish (up North Qld - seasonal - plenty of signs sbout)
Salt water crocs (again, further north - plenty of signs about)
Sharks (we have shark nets)
Sea snakes (you'd have to be really unlucky)
White tip spiders (again, you'd have to be really unlucky)
Cane toads (nothing a good kick won't solve)
Funnel Web (predominatly NSW, but recently new breed found in Sunshine Coast Hinterland)
Razorback pigs (again, you'd have to be very unlucky)

And the list goes on...

In all honesty though - it is extremely unlikely that you will have a face off with any of the above (Cane toads excluded - just grab the little bugger and take him to the nearest cane toad race at your local pub and you might even win some $$'s)

The biggest thing you need to exercise caution with if you are heading further North is Crocodiles - HEED THE SIGNS!!!

Also, ALWAYS swim between the flags at the beach - the water is treachourous.

You will love Queensland it truly is a paradise - have fun

depends on where in queensland u r goin... cities, u just gotta watch out for redback spiders.... very rarely snakes... but go in the bush... and u can find anything.... yes we have the most venomous snakes on earth...but most times thay are more scared of u than u of them.. they only attack when cornered or been statrled.... u gotta be more careful of drunken idiots than snakes or spiders. but still Queensland beautiful one day ...perfect the next...

that's easy.

dingos of course. especially if you have a baby.

maybe the dingo ate your baby.

Chris
You bet, Australia is considered to have the most deadliest animals in the world. All you can do is be careful, i lived in melbourne and i found if you are near the city then your usually okay.

Aussieblonde -bundy'd
queenslanders, followed by all other australians......

WHERE IN QLD?????? its a big state ffs!

red belly black snakes, box jellies, tiger snakes, death aders, man of war, funnel web spiders, red back spiders, salt water crocs, fresh water crocs, sharks, ticks, etc etc

Although the Australian military is one of the most educated and accurate forces in the world, the population is small and so is the size of our military, so we feed and breed the above animals to control immigration.....

idontlike_idiots
if it moves it is dangerous the faster it can move the more dangerous it is SO leave the animals alone & they may leave you alone too

My trip there last December was awesome, some of the biggest spiders in my life. Found two poisonous snakes the first week I was there as well. However, I was stomping around the bush more than the cities. The thing I hated most were the flies; a single fly going up your nose in one day is a little odd, but I had four flies in one day fly up my nose. Down in Tasmania the jumping jack ant will do you a number as well. Glad I didn't run into those.

Spiders are EVERYWHERE and I hate them! They are scary and are made by satan himself. I think you should fear a Chupicabra more though. They are very common in Queensland and are known for killing people (mainly younger shorter people) and drinking their blood. Be very careful. They are the scariest thing in the world to see and range about 4 ft tall. They are extremely dangerous so do not go out at night. I Warned you!

Nah there is nothing to be afraid of I was just messing with you......except for the spider part that is.

cat_the_aussie
I live in Australia. I am guessing you don't.
The only thing aside from the liberals up there that you need to be worried about is croc's.
Sure, they have nasty spiders, jellyfish, etc....
Just excercise some common sense. I go up there every summer, and the nastiest bite i've had in 20 years was from a mosquito.

AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE
bloody gecko's there everywhere. they'll chase you all over the frigging house.
and they pee on you.
oh and they have sharp teeth too............well gums, i know one bit me.
they may be small but their deadly.
I hate them. can you tell?
other animals like snakes and spiders but when do you see them.
if you do don't touch just walk away.
yes in the water there are some deadly creatures too.
The box jelly fish is the main one to look out for.
As I said when do you see them?
Hardly ever but we all know there out there.
I see more Koala's and kangaroo's then snakes and deadly spiders.
Don't go up and hug a roo or a koala unless its in a zoo, they'll skitz out on you to.
cheers From down under in Queensland (Brisbane)

toe poe gee gee oh
Killer jelly fish and Blue ringed Octopus, are more dangerous then spiders...there is antivenom for the spiders and snakes. Just don't touch anything...and only swim in patroled beaches and don't stick your fingers into a shell or step around the water without beach shoes. Oh and check your shoes , keep them up high...spiders like dark places. You rarely see spiders and snakes in suburban areas unless you disturb a nest or go bush walking....stick to the paths if you do. They are usually more afraid of you.

been there done that

i live in queensland if you leave the aniamls alone they will leave you alone. the crocs are a different thing though. just stay out of their water and you will be fine mate.

snakes and spiders; crocodiles and sharks; jelly fish, dingos. but if you stay out of their way, they tend to stay out of yours.
