The eatable kind. We eat the same food as you, Australia is getting WAY to Americanised and we hate it.

We don't have much in the way unique to Australia except maybe Kangaroo which isn't sold at many restaurants. We eat the best the world has to offer, so you want it we got it.

One big difference though, we don't put as much fat as humanly possible into our foods as you do. A hamburger here is meat, onion, lettuce, beetroot, tomato, tomato or bbq sauce. And they don't ooze fat. The American food made me feel sick.

We eat the same food here as you eat there silly billy. I lived in Florida for 8 years and it was almost the same food but we don't have grits and gizzards and pickled pigs feet...sorry. We do however have really fresh and delicious meat. vegetables and fruits. If you are worried that we exist on snake and crocodile however you will be sadly mistaken as even we have to go somewhere special like a restaurant to access those kinds of food. We can buy kangaroo steaks at the supermarket though but that isn't much different to the US where you can buy buffalo and venison. The meats we eat mostly are beef, chicken, pork, lamb and seafood like fish, scallops and shrimp which we call prawns. So come on over and enjoy the food and the country. You will be fine.

We can drink our tap water . Our Bread comes in all shapes and forms wholemeal, multi grain, white, soy and linseed sliced ,unsliced . we love our pies, meat pies, chicken pies ,curry pies, fruit pies. If you're banking on going out to eat, be prepared to go to an Asian (Chinese, Vietnamese, etc.) restaurant in the following suburbs - and around them - in Sydney:

- Bankstown
- Chatswood
- Hurstville
- Campsie
- Ashfield
- Etc.

Mainly lower income - middle-class areas.

Australia is an extremely multicultural country, so really I guess the food here would be described as all the cuisine in the world.

But I guess if you're looking for the staple sort of main food, look towards England. Or your own country. But just off the record, we don't have peanut butter and jelly sandwiches here. Sorry.

I guarantee you wouldn't come across some weird sort of unidentifiable meat in your food, or whatever, though you can buy kangaroo meat at Coles or Woolworths (they're Australia's Walmart). I have only tried it once. It's actually quite nice ... though I felt really guilty eating it ...

Hope this helped!
