What part of Australia would be the best to work and live? |
I just got a work visa to work in Australia for a year. I'm having a hard time figuring out on the location. I'm graduating with an Accounting and Finance degree and most likely I would like to work in the financial industry.
Do you think Brisbane, Queensland would be good for me? Is it easy finding jobs in Brisbane? What part of Australia should I look into? |

Absolutely Brisbane. Contrary to what has been said there are some large finance firms based in Brisbane including a very large Allfinanz company. I live in Brisbane, however as some have said it can be hot here but then it can be in most parts of Australia at various times. It is more expensive to live in Sydney or Melbourne, although Brisbane and Perth are catching up rapidly. It really depends on what your lifestyle is and whether you are wanting to see part of Australia while you are here. If you go to Perth you are a long way from anywhere else. Brisbane is closest to Great Barrier Reef. |

People didn't read your question. You said "I'm graduating with an Accounting and Finance degree and most likely I would like to work in the financial industry. "
The finance industry is based mainly in Sydney and, to a lesser extent, in Melbourne. There are no big finance firms in Brisbane (even though it's a lovely place to live). |

There are lots of jobs (generally) in Brisbane. IF YOU CAN STAND THE HEAT!!! It does get very hot in summer! I guess it depends on where you come from. I lived in Sydney for about 12 years; the weather was good but life was VERY fast paced and Sydney Siders don't really want to know you. I worked a lot in Melbourne: much nicer people but the weather is not as good as Sydney's. Brisbane feels a bit slow at first, if you come from a busy place, but people are relaxed and they do know how to take it REALLY easy. Hope this helps?..

I f you want to live in a nice place that is not so expensive
I would advise you to look at Adelaide or Perth.
Brisbane,Sydney and Melbourne are more expensive.
Take a look at Adelaide as the South Australian State Government offers a lot.Western Australia is always looking for workers and
Perth would offer you excellent opportunities. |

perth ,western oz ,has a great beaches great people , the cost of living is cheep compared with the rest of the major cities , but it can get HOT !! there .
melbourne is like the arty city you could compare it to san fran , it has a good climate .
sydney is great fun, if you like big cities ,fast pass , trendy people , and the public transport is prob one of the best in the world , you do not need a car in sydney , also your on the doorstep to the blue montains .
brisbane is cool , a bit more laid back , people are friendly , climate is great , surf is great , .
you can find a job in anyone of these places (in the field your looking in) I would live in sydney myself , but that is just me . |

The Kimberley in far north Western Australia always has plenty of jobs and certainly has plenty to see. Or perhaps anywhere along the west coast. Generally Broome north thru to Darwin. Good luck and I hope you enjoy your time here. |
