What picture do you get when I say "Sydney"?

And I mean the "Sydney" in Australia. Some might really hate Sydney since I read other places that they did. This is for my leaflet for homework so please help me out. I went to Sydney before already and a lot of times but I need your opinions. Whether you're from Sydney or you never did.

It might be easier if I said, "What picture would you expect to have on the front page of a brochure/leaflet that talks about Sydney for tourists?" Please please help me out, I really need it, thanks!

Appreciated.

I used to design travel brochures for Australia. A picture of the The Opera House is not inviting at all. It's iconic and fine for inside your leaflet but not for the front cover.

A photo of Darling Harbour offers much more. It's located on the harbour, it's busy with pedestrians but at the same time very laid back.

Alternatively, a photo of "The Rocks" area of Sydney would make an interesting cover shot.

When you design a brochure you need to think about who your target market is. That is, who are you trying to sell this trip to Sydney to? Are they old folk or are they young and wanting a bit more energy and excitement?

let me know if you get stuck with ideas.

Opera House, Harbour Bridge, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts...lol

Been there a million times, love it!

the opera from the view of a helicopter ascendng over the harbour

It would have to be the standard shot of the opera house over the harbour with the harbour bridge in the background. To me that image just screams Sydney and has the two most famous landmarks in one.

As a New Zealander living in Sydney I would recommend the iconic Opera house as your front page image

coming from someone who is from sydney, i would either have, my first choice, the harbour bridge and second choice the opera house. you can create like a montage of both like one overlaping the other but you have to defentily have one of them in and you could include one the native animals or something.

something like this would look nice :

and these are pretty good too.

When i hear the word Sydney i picture the harbour bridge. but for you leaflet the opera house would also be a icon that is most recongnised for it there. When i flew into Sydney (my first and only time - havent travelled interstate much) they were teh two icons my mum and i looked out for. and we saw them covered with cloud with teh ocean in teh back ground
