The platypus has no role in Australia at Easter.
The Easter Bilby is an important reminder to Australians of the plight of our native wildlife.
Where as, the rabbit (or bunny) is an introduced pest in Australia.

Wonder flew over Australia last Easter and saw the Easter Platy (as he is known 'down under') and witnessed him "hop-walking' and delivering colored eggs and chocolate treats to all of the wonderful (yet naughty) Aussie children.
