What role does the platypus play in Australian Easter?

Show all answers

Damn Pocket Protector
The platypus, strangely, always plays the role of The Three Wise Men...

And a Kangaroo always plays Pontius Pilate...

the bilby which is a long ear masupial (looks a bit like a rabbit) has become part of it thru a campaign to raise awareness about how endangered it is.

Watermelon Nerd IBYA777
It's a cute little duck and fuzzy bunny and beaver and lays eggs.

I think I like the idea of the Easter Platypus.....Hmmm.

They dress up in red suits and wear false white beards. Or am I thinking of Christmas?

The platypus has no role in Australia at Easter.

The Easter Bilby is an important reminder to Australians of the plight of our native wildlife.
Where as, the rabbit (or bunny) is an introduced pest in Australia.

To read more about the Easter Bilby go to the website below.

Wonder Cat: Nut Lover
Wonder flew over Australia last Easter and saw the Easter Platy (as he is known 'down under') and witnessed him "hop-walking' and delivering colored eggs and chocolate treats to all of the wonderful (yet naughty) Aussie children.

Roast platypus with yabby sauce makes a fine lunch on Easter Sunday.

Girl Goes Back To The Future
It is the time of the cute little Bilby....instead of the rabbit, we have a Bilby that kicks ****!

The platypus just gets chocolate eggs. That is all. :P
