Depends on your idea of who, when, where, etc.. plus you have to take into account your finances..

For free, if you are near the city take a walk in Centenial Park. They have BBQs so you and friends can have a picnic (if you have someone to spend the day with.)
The Botanical gardens are a great day out on a bike too, but no BBQ so remember to take a cold lunch.. Plenty of water.. it is summer.

For up to $20, catch a movie. But bring your own snacks.

Unlimited expenses, I would say..
If you can get up early.. Go to the zoo.. or as said by others one of the widelife parks.. Maybe catch a movie in the IMAX, but there is also an exhibition on in Darling Harbour.. I was thinking of going so you might like it.. I forget what it was because I don't have time but that is the last option I can think of for now...

I agree with Karen, plus go up the Sydney Tower (entrance is inside the Pitt St Mall) and do Oztrek - fantastic. You can also do the Skywalk if you don't suffer from vertigo. Or hit the beach, if it's a nice day - Bondi and Manly are always great but my favourite is Coogee. Or wander round the Opera House, maybe see a show and/or relax at the cafe there. The prices aren't too high and it's great to sit right by the harbour and watch the world go by. Or there's Darling Harbour, where the aquarium is but there's so much more there - almost enough to spend a whole day, especially if you go to the Imax cinema. The Maritime Museum is well worth a visit, as is the Powerhouse Museum. Don't forget Chinatown too, including the wonderful Chinese Gardens - all within walking distance. Enjoy!
