Ooh terribly cold, lots of snow, lots of rain. Err maybe not or not everywhere at least
As its such a large country temperatures varies widely across Australia - in winter its mostly mild but some places can be cold, some places, mainly in the centre such as Alice are warm (or would seem warm to UK visitors) - see http://www.aussie-info.com/tourist/climate.php for average temperatures |

Hello

Uusally mild - having said that, it's been HOT there these past few days.. and very humid - not ideal driving weather that's for sure ;-) |

Heh.It can vary from warm days in some parts to snow in others. You'd be best to check the local forecast of the region you are going to. |

I was in Melbourne, Sydney and Cairns in May/June last year and didn't have to wear a coat or jumper once, the weather was lovely and mild and very typical of an early summer day here in England, our final day in Sydney was a wash out as they started with those bad storms and all flights were delayed but that can happen here in England. |

'Winter"...? what is that!! ?? (lol) |

Best answer usually the simplest

Compared to where? The rains come in the winter. Not a ton of rain mind you....as Aussie land is a desert basically. But in areas near the equator, lots of water comes down. In the middle it may get down to freezing at night. Instead of 70F in the summer. |

Very cold in the ACT. We get minus temps all time overnight in winter. Not as bad as when I was a kid. Global warming may have something to do with that.
Bruce Stadium has to be the coldest place around. Pity the opponents.
It's only 2.5 hours to the snow. Day trips all the time. |

I live in the tropical part of Australia, North Queensland - our winter... well we don't own a heater at all.
Last year it got down to 13 degrees at night for a couple days - (july) the lowest in 20 years. ..... during the day it's always in the 20's though....
T-shirts and shorts all year around for us.
It is also the dry season, so not much rain. :-( |

It depends where you are. In the south there can be snow and freezing below zero temperatures, whereas further north it is fairly mild, we dont get that many storms, and recently there hasnt been much rain. Try this site: |

It depends where in Australia you are, I live in Perth so you would have rain and cold weather and maybe frost but not enough generally to freeze anything.
Sometimes storms or hail but not anything too severe most of the time.
It is summer here now, hot 38 Celsius today. |
