NZ if you don't like extreme temps. As has been said, Oz is HUGE, and weather depends where you're headed. We rented a flat in Fremantle for 3 months last year (Jan to March). Fabulous, with great beaches. Hot, but humidity is low, and there is often a cool breeze. Freo is a great place but if you need more action, Perth is half an hour away by train.
Avoid Northern Territory and Queensland in summer. Very humid, and you can't swim in the sea on account of jellyfish. In these parts they are much more than just an irritation, they're deadly. Adelaide and Melbourne are great, and although I'm not so fond of Sydney, most people think it's great too. Have fun! |

northern aus will be very hot and sticky as it's considered tropical up there. theres also higher risk of floods and other extreme weather. Down south it's just hot. Theres some great beaches which you can have all to yourself if you're with someone who knows their way around and the days are really long and beautiful. have fun |

Best place to visit would be the southern cities- like Melbourne or Adelaide. This is the high part of summer for these places. Lots of festivals and events.
Its not too hot, but hot enough to go to the beach. |

It's summer then. The northern part of Australia is very hot. The farther south you go, the cooler it gets. |
