I'm Aussie but i absolutely believe the umpiring was not up to scratch and was mostly in favour in Australia, entirely unfair and unsportsmanly llike and I sympathize with the Indians

But i also believe that this does not make raciaism acceptable and the punishment was fair.

redindian
Much ado about nothing !!

There was some poor umpiring and some very good cricket. India led after the first innings but couldn't bowl Australia out in the second. Australia bowled India out and won the test. Harbhajan should not have made racist remarks to Symonds, particularly as he had be warned for doing it before, the penalty was correct and justified. Peter Roebuck should resign.

There were bad umpiring decisions in Australia's favour and India were justified in requesting different umpires for the rest of THEIR Australian tour. However...

Symmonds should not have been called a monkey - the punishment to Haberjan (sp?) was fair.

India threatening to cancel the rest of their tour was un-sportsmanlike.

India saying Brad Hogg was racist too ONLY after Haberjan (sp?) was banned for three matches was un-sportsmanlike.

People requesting Ricky Ponting to resign was uncalled for - he has done nothing wrong.

People saying the Aussies were bad sports, I PERSONALLY don't think, was justified - I don't think they were bad sports in the second test.

People questioning why Andrew Symmonds didn't walk when he was clearly out early in his second innings need to consider that incorrect decisions are made ALL THE TIME in cricket, sometimes in a teams favour, sometimes against the team, and it is very rare for anyone to walk. Sure, Andrew should have walked, but so should have the countless other players who have also been in his situation in the past, so he was just following the crowd, as do many of the other players, and although I don't agree with it, I personally don't blame him for staying at the crease.

A couple of toss-pot commentators should be kicked out. In fact bar Richie, they probably should all be given the flick and charged for impersonating a cricket commentator.

The Monkey thing?
The media made a huuuuge deal out of something that should be settled on the pitch/ field/ oval.
What ever you play Cricket on.
