If you come from the USA, you can take Air New Zealand that will go non-stop from SFO or LAX to most major Australian capital cities. En route, you can do a free stopover in Auckland, NZ and visit there before or after going to Australia and Air NZ is one of the cheapest out there.
Qantas Airways does a good deal at certain times of the year where if you fly from the USA, you can add on extra flights within Australia for a set price and that's good too.
Summer can be really hot and humid up north and hot and dry down south. What you need to be warned is that if you come during the late Spring - Summer season (October - March), the flies in this country are really really disgusting and you'll need a fly hat if you leave the city at all.
I think February is the hottest time and should be avoided but it is also the time when a lot of festivals are going on so it's a hard choice. Spring (September to December) or Fall (March - May) are cheaper and less intense with heat. |

Hi I would have to say the best time to visit Australia would have to be in October/November Early December or even late Feb early March b4 it gets to hot or just when the heats dying down especially if your planning to visit the north i live in Townsville Nth Qld and those are the best times to visit as in between those times the temp can reach 120 farienhiet with humidity of 100% it's a really gross time, I was also born in Sydney ad lived there for 20yrs and likewise the temp can reach 120 but nowhere near as humid, but you definitely want to come when the weathers warm to take advantage of our beaches and the Barrier Reef.
As for visiting other countries the only thing i can think of is to get a round trip ticket which goes via the UK and Singapore or Thailand of some thing like that and once our here you can pick up a ticket to New Zealand for as little as 400AUD return or package deals there probably around 650AUD per person which include return airfare accommodation etc.
Hope that helped |

the best time and place would be Melbourne and Sydney in Spring.
You have the 2 major fottball grand finals, horse racing (the BIG races) and its more enjoyable as the sun gets warmer. Endless amounts of activities.
Dont go to the snow in Winter. If you do get snow (it did not snow this year) the slopes are crap compared to the states/canada.
Machelle T: Those 2 last parragraphs are pure crap (sorry). The summer seasion is December to Mid FEB. Hot in Febuary??? It is fine for temp. in feb! I live on the south queensland coast and its 24 C in mid FEB. And what flies??? There is one or 2 but they only get 'disgusting" at the VERY slightest in the outback. They will anoy you in the outback. Just had to point that out. |

It depends on which part of Australia you want to visit.
Melbourne/Tasmania - November to March
Sydney- All year round is good
Brisbane/Cairns/HTI- May to August
Alice Springs/Darwin- May to November
Hope this helps.
Cheers, |

Spring and Summer is the best time for flowers and outside fun ( September, October, November, December January, Febuary, March) Then winter time is really nice if you haven't seen the snow before but it only really snows in two States. |
