Where's a good spot to do water activities in WA?

Where can I swim with dolphins and also go sea kayaking?

The other posters advising Monkey Mia are correct, you can SEE dolphins there, however you will NOT be allowed to swim with them, in fact you will be permitted in no deeper than your ankles, the Department of Conservation and Land Management controls the area very strictly. If you want to SWIM with dolphins, and also go sea kayaking then I can highly recommend Rockingham. We have swim with the dolphin tours here where they actually take you out in a boat to the dolphins and allow you to really get in the water with them. You can also rent a sea kayak and explore the Shoalwater Marine Park while youre here. The marine park includes Penguin Island, a bird sanctuary and fairy penguin colony, and Seal Rock, which is a sea lion colony. You are not allowed to actually go onto Seal Rock for your own safety as sea lions have been known to attack humans. Wherever you go I hope you enjoy your time in our beautiful state.

I'm not sure if Bunbury still has the dolphin dealy thing where you can go in the water with them...prolly Rockingham is a good idea...
Also if your into windsurfing and what not there's Lancelin. Awesome place to go sandboarding too...yes I am aware sandboarding is not a water sport *grin*

Hi it's up north from Perth that you can do all you ask .see link

Way up north at Monkey Mia they have lots of dolphins. You can stand ankle deep in water while some people get to feed them a few times a day, but you can't swim with them, actually, they make you get out of the water if they spot dolphins (they can totally bite you if they think you are a fish or something).
Here in Rockingham they do dolphin tour things and you can swim with them with those little motor thingies you hold.
And in bunbury they have dolphins that you could swim with if they are there.

Sea kayaking ... probably lots/most of places have a company that will rent you one.

If you want to join commercial tours to swim with dolphins, then it 's either Bunbury or Rockingham.

You can visit and feed dolphins in Monkey Mia , but they won't let you swim with them . I won't swim there because it's in the area of Shark Bay .

However , you maybe able to come across them quite often in the metro waters. I normally see dolphins when I am snorkelling in the Swan River . Also the other day I was snorkelling off the beach and two dolphins came along .

You can go sea kayaking anywhere , off any beach , there's no restriction on them .
These people also do courses in the Swan River and down in Rockingham.

I think you should go to San Juan county and head for those inslands for your favorit water sports. For detailed information, you can visit the following website.

The dolphins only go through puget sound once a year, i think. If you don't mind going a little further north, the Canadian Gulf Islands(between Vancuver Island and the mainland), are very nice to kayak around. my parents have property up there on a small island between Thetis, and Galiano Islands. It's a great home base for kayaking, and very remote. email me if you want the number of a guy who rents out a cabin up there. It's beautiful man.
