steve ... to put it pretty bloody bluntly .. HOW MUCH OF A MORON ARE YOU ????

you KNOW it's illegal
you KNOW some places sell them regardless
you ASK for people to tell you where exactly they are sold ..

think about what you are doing you dip$hit...

let's say we are sympathetic to your need to buy fireworks.. ( which I'm not because dangerous toys do not need to be in the hands of morons) ... and we tell you where these are sold...

IT isn't as if YAHOO answers is a secret society and the information here can't be taken and used elsewhere..

say somebody names a shop and tells you where they are? do you REALLY think that by the time you get your butt off the PC to go and buy them that the information posted here wouldn't have been handed to the police....

We are a tinderbox state at the moment .. we DON'T need phuckwitts like yourself who already have NO REGARD for the law .. having access , illegal or otherwise, to fireworks

GROW UP PENCIL-RICHARD

I'm pretty sure they're illegal.... I never found any in Melbourne, but there is this place in Tweed Heads....

Yes Australia has funny laws about fireworks.
You can NOT obtain any in Qld, unless it's for a special occasion like New Years etc.... in that case the council are in charge of purchasing fireworks.
You go to New Zealand for Guys Fawkes week and you can buy as much fireworks as you want - Many stores sell them, most popular 'The Warehouse'.

Cate
If you know they're illegal what really is the point in asking the bloody question? Especially if you know the laws. Listen if you really want them, try Springvale, they seem to sell everything else up there . Or even try Dandenong for the same reason.

Fireworks are illegal to sell and buy except for someone with a pyro technical licence . although I believe you can buy them in Darwin and Canberra for one week of the year if you live in that area.

Whats the place in Tweed Heads that sells them, Its a lot closer to me than Canberra

Do what all the other Melbourne people do, go to Canberra for the weekend and get your fireworks there. They are about to become illegal in the NT so Canberra is your only hope. It is a pleasant drive and Canberra is worth a visit.
