Where do people see animals in Australia?

So I'm doing a project and it's kind of a story. So in my project there are two friends who go to Australia for a few weeks. They are wealthy friends and I've personally never been to Australia but I was wondering about where to see animals. Is there like a famous zoo? Or is there a special forrest where a tour guide can take you and you can see the animals? Thanks A LOT! I will choose a best answer!

There's Taronga Park Zoo in Sydney, Australia Zoo (Steve Irwin's zoo) just north of Brisbane, Dubbo Plains Zoo in centralish NSW. If you go snorkelling on the Barrier Reef you'll see plenty of underwater fish and animals. We don't really have safaris like in Africa..... but just driving from A to B in the right areas you may see kangaroos, wallabies, buffalo, wombats, foxes, hares. If you wander around in the right areas you may see all those as well as echidnas, snakes, spiders, lizards, koalas. But as I say, you have to know where to look!

First things first, Australia is a massive country with all climate types represented..tropical rainforests, beaches, deserts, snowfields, dry sevannah etc etc so depending on what type of animals you want to see determines where to go to see them. If you want to see iconic aussie animals like koalas, kangaroos, crocodiles, goannas etc etc etc there are plenty of zoos and wildlife parks .e.g australia zoo, taronga zoo but to be honest, I think seeing animals in a more natural state is far preferable.

I lived in Tasmania for a couple of years and regularly saw wombats, wallabies, possums, tiger snakes, wedge-tailed eagles and hawks etc just by going out bushwalking. I now live in far north queensland and I just have to go down to the local river to see crocodiles, jabirus, kangaroos.

The beaut thing about Australia is that if you want to get out into nature, you only have to travel for an hour from any capital city and you can find it. A little time spent keeping quiet an dlistening will bring you into contact with numerous wild animals.

Hope this helps.

Dude just go to the outback.
See plenty of wild animals.
Australia isn't that civilized, so animals can be found basically anywhere.

I think that animals that we would consider exotic are everywhere. Even in big cities there would be bound to be exotic birds. I know a few people who have spent a few months there and they say that they're everywhere.

In the wild some of the best places are Tasmania - just go on a bushwalk and they are hopping/snuffling around everywhere, especially Cradle Mountain area, and in the Daintree Rainforest near Cairns/Port Douglas where you can take a guided tour and see all sorts of wild animals. There are also crocodile tours in the Daintree River.

Most Australian animals are more active in the eraly morning, the evening and at night. They sleep during the middle of the day.

A lot of wealthy international visitors go to Port Douglas (eg Bill Clinton) so I would go with there. You can also visit the Great Barrier Reef from there and there are lots of glamorous resorts so it may be a good setting. It's tropical in climate.

Besides the Zoo, wild life parks where there are a lot of Australian native animals especially Kangaroo, Koala, Emu, tasmanian devils, wombats. There are a few in each states of Australia. See the links below.

In the pubs, at Holden rallies, at Rugby league games, throughout Queensland both rural and in Brisbane.

Australia was settled by convicts, what do you expect?
