It depends on the weather you like the most, I guess.
Darwin is the hottest and has alot of thunderstorms.
Brisbane also gets quite hot.
Perth can be windy and hot at times.
Melbourne and Sydney were at about 44 degrees celsius a few days ago
Adelaide can also be hot and windy.
and Hobart gets to around 26 usually in summer, but is cold in winter.

I'd say Hobart because I don't like heat.

Melbourne for the shopping

Sydney for the night life

Queensland for the theme parks

and im not sure bout any of the other states

but i doubt it matters its so cheap to fly across the country you can see it all and take your pick

Mackay, Mission Beach, Emerald, Sunshine Coast (parts of it anyway), Toowoomba, Brisbane, anywhere along NE coast of NSW, Armidale, Coffs Harbour, Grafton, Bellingen, Sydney, Woolongong, Bathurst.... plus a million other places that I'm not familiar with. Depends on what you mean by nice and what you're looking for in a town!
