All tho I am western suburbs Melbourne and love Victoria know you can get work driving semi's down here if you want to make good $$ Mackay in Nth QLD is always screaming out for workers weather it be trucks for the mines or trucks & other workers for the port town etc.
Its Tropical so has a wet season & warm weather
My sister & her family has just moved up there. Her hubby doubled his income & Could have got more $$ if he had gone to the mines instead of the railways. |

Well, since you cannot just "move" to Australia without a work visa, and you cannot get a work visa without first having a specific job...WHERE you would move would be wherever he can find an employer. See site below to begin your research on work visas and immigration. It will take several years to go through this process. |

if he can drive a semi, i'm sure he can drive a miners truck. You could move somewhere in Central QLD, try rocky or yeppoon (yeppoon has the beach a great life style and plenty of schools so i;m sure you can find a house near one of them. Working at the mines is shift work so maybe 4 days work 3 days of an stuff like that, making up to 100k a year. The only down side is if you not working close to the mine your hubby will have to drive but I know many people who do that. Check out all the mines in the bowen basin and from there look at places to live near by, Mackay or yeppoon would be best depending on the mine. There is also oppertunity to drive semi's in the region also, cattle transport and various other industry are screaming for workers.. check it out and best of luck |

melbourne
trucks are constantly going from sydney to melbourne
melbourne was voted the most livable city in the world
melbourne is the second safest place after toronto
and the house prices are currently on an all time high which is why the government is going to somehow make it cheaper, so by the time you get here, the property market would have gone down significantly
there are schools everywhere, public or private
the most good schools are in the south or east
i live in the inner north, it's got the best primary schools but no good high schools so go south or east
the northern suburbs are the cheapest followed by in think the east |

I would say some where in the western suburbs of Melbourne,I spent 25 years there and found it a great place for kids and work.
My brother was a truckie and worked all over the country from there, its 800kms to Adelaide and Sydney which are constantly be transported good from Melbourne.
Apart from the work scene, it is a really relaxed lifestyle and the people are friendly and will take anyone one is as a friend.
Climates keep you warm and beached keep you cool, with BBQ's most weekend.
Good luck. |
