Kakadu NP is in the Northern Territory. Its an Aboriginal word and meaning - a dreamtime place. Full of plenty of stories to tell and things to see.

kakadu national park is about a 3 hr drive from Darwin, in the alligator rivers region, and the gateway to Arnhemland.
it is one of the most spectacular places i have ever visited in my life and i would highly recommend it to anyone as a place to visit. the contrast in landscapes and scenery is amazing and quite unlike anywhere else i have ever been to.
if you have the opportunity to go there absolutely go and check it out for yourself!!

Ernie
It is in the Northern Territory South and east of Darwin. Great place. Wonderful Aboriginal art. Amazing termite mounds.

Kakadu National Park is located within the Alligator Rivers Region of the Northern Territory of Australia. It covers an area of 19,804 square kilometres, extending nearly 200 kilometres from north to south and over 100 kilometres from east to west. It is about one-third the size of Tasmania, or nearly the same size as Switzerland.

Elizabeth
Kakadu, in the Northern Territory, is listed by the World Heritage and is now one of the most important Heritage regions in Australia. To the north it is bordered by Van Diemen Gulf.
At the moment it covers an area of 1 307 300 hectares of land.

By Car
Departing Darwin you travel south east on the Stuart Highway then link to the Arnhem Highway. 210km (approx 2.5 hours driving) from Darwin on the Arnhem Highway.

Amy
