Alice Springs.

But it also gets really cold at night - clear desert skies!

Can also be quite hot during the day around Cairns and Brisbane. Basically, stick to Northern Australia when it's their Autumn/Winter, as the North is the "tropical" (as opposed to temperate) part of the country.

I've tramped (that's their word for hiking) all around Oz at various times of the year, and I always stuck around the Northen Territories and Queensland from about April to September. You need your woollies in the evening though.

Northern Queensland....Port Douglas is a fabulous spot!....Check it out!

Pretty well anywhere north of the Tropic of Capricorn.
The further north you go, the warmer it gets.

North Queensland. However it is a tropical climate so you can get the odd cyclone and if you avoid that you cannot avoid the torrential rain.

You could go to Broome in northan West Australia. It has beautiful beaches and great market places. Also has fantastic restuarants!!
Although i dont know how hot it will be in those months but it is hot pretty much all year as it is up north.
You could also think of going to north QLD!!

Linda L
That is the fall and winter part of the year for them so I don't know where to tell you that it would be hot.

tentofield
It depends on what you call hot but northern Australia in the tropics is warm to very warm with maximum temperatures from the mid to high 20s. Inland you can get frosts in Alice Springs and it gets cool further north overnight. Southern Australia is cool to mild, cold at times in Melbourne, Canberra and Hobart.

You can check all the details of Australia's climate here:

Stick to Northern Australia like glue, Cairns (QLD), Darwin and Broome in WA.

These are all accessible by domestic airlines at very competetive rates. Cairns is serviced by Qantas from many asian destinations (Hong Kong.. etc)

Darwin is served by Tiger Airlines from Singapore.

Queensland - Brisbane up!! Australians often go there in their winter time, as it gets good whether all year round.
