Depends what you want. Bondi if people watching is your thing. Tamarama is called Glamourama for a reason (although it has a really nice break on the north side). If deserted beaches are your thing, North Palm Beach under Barrenjoey, Bungan (coz you have to walk for a bit) or Wanda and the Royal National Park beaches like Garie. For surf, Avalon, North Narrabeen and a host of others depending on swell direction. |

Every beach has its supporters and detractors. It depends on what you want because there is a beach to suit everyone. There are dozens of beaches ranging from big surf beaches to quiet harbourside coves. If you like beaches, you will have a lot of fun discovering the best beach for you - if you ever do. |

If you want to be overwhelmed by tourists then hit Bondi, but if you want a half decent set, not as crowded, but easily accesable to the city then Manly is definately a goer.
But if you truly want a life altering experience and have the funds to make it, travel to Bells beach |

Manly for its Surf
But i really like Shark Beach in Vaucluse its a small calm little bay away from all the tourists |

There are plenty of good quiet beaches around Sydney if you are willing to hunt them down once you get to Sydney. I was always partial to Palm Beach near Pittwater. It was close enough to Sydney to get to by bus and not feel completely isolated but far enough away to feel as you were not in the city. |

Definitely not BONDI it is the most over rated beach I have ever been to, over crowded, not the best conditions.
Come to S.A. we'll find some good beaches for you here! |

Bondi i would suppose never been there |

In my experience.....
Right along the edge of the water is the best place to find the beach.
Even though Sidney is "down-under" the same rules apply... only the toliet water spins backward.
g-day! |
