Depends what you are looking for. Do you want raving nightlife or a great place to bring up kids?
Tasmania is a great place for families [everyone says so and people are coming here from the mainland to live - Tasmania is an island state - with their families every day].
Plasterers should have no problem getting a job here either. Skilled workers are thin on the ground here and we are crying out for more. They are paid well, too.
I lived in Sydney for 33 years and then came back to Tassie and the quality of life here is wonderful. Fresh food abounds. Not your tired old vegies for us, thanks. Most of it is grown here and we supply a lot to the mainland. Education is also very good in Oz. If you feel like a shopping spree on the mainland you can go by plane in an hour or overnight on the ferries [and take your car if you wish].
Lots of people come here for a holiday and love it so much, they move down here if they have the skills to get a job or when they retire. You should definitely check it out.

Well Sydney is a nice place. Can't tell you the wages for that type of work. And you may want to live there first before you start worrying about being there forever. The Aussie's are great people.

Perth, or just outside of perth. Perth is a very nice city, its nice and warm, and an avergage of 21 rainy days of year (one of the driest cities in the country) its average temp is 32 degress Celcius. Its nice and secluded from other sydneys, has great beachies, and lovely places to explore. It is on the west coast and a 3 and a hald hou flight to Sydney. Here you will be guranteed happy!

Hi, to answer your question you need to elaborate more.

Either ask another question or add the answers to the following. What are you looking for in terms of:

- Weather preference
- Career prospects, incl the need or want to study.
- Family requirements
- Social preference, i.e nightlife, sports, etc.
- Public transport
- City vs town, or regional city, country town, etc.
- Price range, for housing, own vs rent, etc.

And anything else we should know.

This is how the locals treat foreigners who come to live here. The nationality doesn't matter. They have names for your countrymen that are not nice also.

how about a nice long vacation? they can kiss tourist butt for a while for $$ but try to stay and you're in for it as others will state at the end of the comment section of this blog...one woman has been eating it for 14 years... Another has had to take her kids out of school because of it. The derogatory term "mick" refers not only to the Irish but and catholic person or person from your part of the world...hope this helps...sorry to be the bearer of this information.I would have loved it if just one person had been honest with me before I came here.
