Where is the nicest place to live in South East QLD? (Australia)?

I want to move somewhere new, preferably near the beach. Somewhere that has lots of work and would be a nice place to raise a family.

Stuff the Gold Coast. Yes, it's near the beach, but it's full of druggos, thieves, tourists, schoolies and wankers. Go to the Sunshine Coast. I go to Tewantin a lot, and its really booming up there, but it's still unspoiled. Eveywhere is taking off, all the way to Hervey Bay.

Wow - there is SO many great places to choose from, and no point me listing them all, I'd bore everyone.
Why not take a look at this site http://www.qldbeaches.com/
Left hand side menu lists the places, click for more info.

Sunshine coast- where else!

Beautiful beaches, friendly locals, great food, wonderful weather and has a choice of both private and public schools...what more could you ask for!

sunshine coast if you have a family, try maroochydoore, or noosa or something close to that. Gold coast is not so family centered but is still really nice. SE Qld is probably the nicest address in Australia.

Redcliffe Peninsula.

The Gold Coast or the Sunshine Coast are probably your best bets. The difference? Probably not a lot, but the Gold Coast is more developed, and has a more "edgy/party" vibe, while the Sunshine Coast is more of a "slow down/relax" sort of place (well, in my opinion anyway!!).

You shouldn't have any trouble at all finding work either place in hospitality/retail.

Mooloollabah, Sunshine Coast !

If you want to be close to the beach you can't go past the Gold Coast, as for jobs there always seems to be plenty of work in the hospitality industry and the retail sector.
There are plenty of schools both private and public but it can be quite expensive to rent or buy in the area. Best of luck to you.

The southern end of the Gold Coast is best I think for a family. It dosn't have the high rises and hussle and bussle of Surfers Paradise. Mermaid Beach, Burleigh Heads, Tallebudgera, Palm Beach, Currumbin. It depends on what sort of industry you want to work in though. The northern end of the coast might be better for work in Southport, Bundall etc. or Brisbane. I have been at Currumbin for 10years and my daughter and I love it. She loves her school and I have a good part time job. All the best with your move.
