In Sydney:
Opera House
Sydney Harbour Bridge
Sydney Aquarium
The Rocks
Darling Harbour

Outside of Sydney
Taronga Park Zoo
Bondi and/or Manly Beach (on a warm day)
Katoomba, Blue Mountains
Jenolan Caves

Many more but my brain has gone to sleep.

July is a winter time, why don't you try to experience snow in NSW. The closest one is Snowy Mountain, about 6 hours by coach. I believe you can find coach like Grayhound company to take you there. It is at Central Station. Have fun!!!

Blue mountain is always nice, in every season. one hour by train, stay there for a night. The good place is YHA Blue Mountain. Very economical way for young traveller.

All of what Big Chuck has advised however, you could also visit featherdale wildlife park at Doonside, Wattamolla in the royal national park great lagoon for swimming and a surf beach in one just a lot quiet than the city beaches and more pristeen, For great shopping the Western Suburbs eg; Parramatta, Blacktown, Penrith & Markets eg; Parklea open Sat & Sun arel ess expensive than the touristy shops of the City and most are within 20 - 40 min train travel from the city.

Go to all the Sydney beaches, spend a lot of time in the city (at shops and attractions) and i highly reccomend The Blue Mountains for a weekend....although very very cold in July!

Denis
