As most ppl say .... it depends on what you want to do ...... and at what time of year, but if you are active and going around feb - march I'd go to NZ ..... hire a campervan and do a tour of the whole country ..... a month would be needed to see it all and have time to stop and enjoy a good place. But maybe you don't have much time so you could just pick some nice spots like the Bay of islands ( far north ), Tauranga, Rotorua, Taupo ( the Bay of plenty and central north island geothermal area ),
travel down to Wellington via the desert road and the 3 volcanoes then over to Nelson ( the sounds area, golden bay ) and on to Christchurch before crossing to Queenstown via Mt Cook ( the highest peak in the Southern hemisphere ). anyway I could go on and on but may be best you have a look at this site.
www.purenz.com I'd hate to be you if you have limited time there as there are hundreds of great places to see and things to do, fresh fruit to eat, seafood to gorge yourself with, and the best flavoured meat to eat. It is indeed " godzone " ..... pity about the weather sometimes though ..... but can't have it all .... all the time. :) |

New Zealand offers a greater diversity of options than Fiji.
Fiji is great! Lots of cultural history and ethnic diversity (did you know that Fijians were cannibals??!!)
If you like the water - I would rent a sail boat and do the islands around NewZealand. Although the water is a little warmer in Fiji.
Our winter months here in the states are their summer - so it's their 'off season' around October-Dec.
Also check out Vanuatu - a fabulous island nation with alot to offer culturally! |

Personally, I would vacation in Fiji, but thats because I live in New Zealand! Like what others have said, it depends on what you like to do on holiday. Want to sit around and relax? Go to Fiji! Want to be more active and do stuff, come to NZ! |

Ah jeezs too hard ok ok. Let me help ya
New Zealand: Lord of the rings country.... If you wanna go hiking and explore the mountains. Eat great food and look at great scences and sights.
Fiji: A summer hoiliday, with sun, sand and clear sea. Great food, have a relaxing and lazy time, sitting by the beach and chilling out.
Both great places for a holiday... I would spend 1 week in New Zealand and then 1 week in Fiji. |

New Zealand!!!! Its got it all! Beaches, mountains, hiking, extreme sports. And the people there are SUPER friendly.
But if you just want to relax on the beach, than naturally Fiji is for you. Depends on what you want.
If you want variety, NEW ZEALAND!!!! |
