Where would you want to live - UK or Australia?

I have a couple job options in UK and Australia. I'm really confused and unable to decide on the locations....

Australia. For 2 reasons. Its a lovely friendly country, great people and great way of living,2 I love having Christmas in the sun!

Depends where you're from; im an aussie with english parents and i'd say do both. Go to the UK for a few years and see all the incredible history it has to offer, then come to Oz and enjoy the laid back beautiful, beer, beach bbq "aussie" life.

Sounds like a bit of a tough decision to make. Both countries have so much to offer. Australia has beautiful cities, friendly people, it's easy going, and just an all round great place to live, the UK also has beautiful cities, a rich history, and if you get bored, the rest of Europe is only a quick train or boat ride away.

Australia is wonderful BUT, it does have extremes of things. It has extremes of temperature, extremes of insects and huge distances between places. The UK is very safe in terms of weather, creepy crawlies, and is incredibly good on culture and history. The UK has easy access to the rest of the world and air travel is cheap in comparison to that of Oz.
If you go to work in OZ you may have wonderful opportunities but will you be earning enough to fly home whever homesickness strikes?
Whatever you decide, you must then look forward, and not look back and regret. That is pointless and dispiriting. Make a decision and go with it. Either would be good and no-one knows what the future holds for any on us. How lucky you are to have such a choice!

UK is too cold and way to PC which is destroying the place.

Australia any day.

I've never been to the UK, but, I would guess Australia to be the better destination. Depends on the job you are offered tho. We have great weather. Can't think of anything else, but I love Australia, and would never consider moving from here.
Pick Australia!

pacific_islander

It depends on what you like, Oz has better weather and their dollar goes furthur than the pound theres a diversity of animals and places to visit ,UK offers an abundance of history and historic sites and building the weather is cooler and your money doesn't go quite as far ,also the UK is a great stopping off point for travelling though Europe

You should look at the jobs themselves. Decide which would be best for you. Start with a list of pros and cons for each job and go from there.

Believe me mate Australia is the right choice to make.

The weather is really nice most the time, the people are AWESOME (although you get the occasional ********) and everything is so pretty and clean. (compared to other places. obvously there are some pretty ugly places, slums etc)

The guy that said they have extremes of everything, that's a GOOD thing! And it's not really extremes, either. There are hot places and cold places, and places in between.

There are ski in snow covered mountains and ride camels in the deserts, there is lush tropical jungles and dense wetlands.

The economy is very healthy and isn't prone to frequent fluctuations due to pressures from America etc.

Everything is very cheap and the cost to live is cheap.

It doesn't take a long time to drive places, even if you live in Perth (on the far west side of Aussie) it's a MASSIVE city so it's not like you have to drive for thousands of miles to buy a bottle of milk.

It is a very modern and friendly place; it's a place that makes you feel cheerful naturally.

Go to Aussie mate, become the first of a line of Aussies! Any children you have there will look back at you and say "If it wasn't for him/her, we wouldn't be living in this beautiful country!"

:) Good luck!

I just took a job in the UK; while it's ok, surprisingly I know lots of British people who are trying to go to Australia to get work. Could be that the weather is much better!
