Melbourne. Sydney is unlivable. |

I imagine both of them are far more livable than my hometown, Houston, Texas. I've been wondering the same thing. After doing a little research, I've discovered Melbourne was ranked number 17 as the world's most livable cities. I didn't see Sydney anywhere on that scale. |

melbourne - free trams and awesome shopping haha! |

As a Sydney chick I think Melbourne.
FREE TRAMS? What lucky ones. |

I don't think either is livable
house prices that cost 8 to 10 times annual income
Compare that to 3 times in most of the rest of the developed world
Sydney Middle easterners crime problems, traffic problems, Melbourne very cold in winter,
I would hardly call that livable would you??? |

Jasmina

I agree. Melbourne first then Sydney. |

Melbourne is one of the most livable cities in the world.
A lot of history behind the city and it's easy to get around everywhere.
Enough said.
And for the people concerned by the weather, it has been hotter in Melbourne than Sydney lately, around Autumn it is hotter in Melbourne, just rains in Sydney.
What a big change a year can make,
2007 world's most livable cities:

Sydney - 9th
Melbourne - 17th
2008 world's most livable cities:

Melbourne - 9th
Sydney - 11th
mmm...mmm....interesting. |
