1 - Southbank
Lots of restaurants along the Yarra river, great visually and fire lights up at night on the hour.

2 - Flinders St Station and Federation Square. Information centre is there also.

3 - Port Melbourne. Great spot also for restaurants, has bars and is along Port Philip Bay.

4 - Healsesville Sanctuary - Just outside Melbourne their is a nature park with Kangaroos, Koalas etc but more out in the open than a standard zoo.

5 - Great Ocean Road - No trip to Melbourne would be complete without this great drive.

6 - See the AFL

7- Philip Island. Penguin Parade.

There's so much more here. Go Melbourne!

There are so many places to visit in Melbourne. You have crown casino, melb Aquarium, Botanical Gardens, Chapel st (shopping & cafes), lygon st (italian reataurants), St kilda (restaurants), Chadstone (huge shopping centre),Rialto tower (tallest building), Take a drive down the great ocean rd to see the 12 apostles (the rocks), Bells Beach, If your here during winter check out our snow mountains - Mt Buller. Hope this helps!!

Go to Woodstock for the best pizza in Melbourne. Ask anyone, and they'll tell you. I don't remember where it is exactly, but it's north of the city. If you don't like pizza, they have other great Italian dishes. The family that runs it is super cool!

Outside the city...take a trip down the Nepean Highway. There are tons of places to stop at. Maybe even go to Philip Island and see the little penguins walk up onto the beach. Rosebud is nice. These are all fun places to go during the summer and late spring. Not bad in winter either if you can stand the cooler temps.

Puffin' Billy is fun too. It's an old coal powered train that goes up into the higher elevations - lots of nice flora and fauna to see. That's a good trip. They even serve you food if you pay the extra.

You can't not spend a day just in the CBD taking in the sights and doing a bit (a lot!) of shopping! There's Melbourne Central, Bourke Street Mall, Myer, David Jones, QV - it's great!

Although a good place to start if you're looking for ideas on where to go and what to do when you get here is the Melbourne Visitor's centre at Federation Square. It's right opposite Flinders Street Station, so getting there by public transport is easy. I don't recommend travelling by car in the city, as traffic can be a nightmare.

I always think a nice stroll down Southbank is a must do! The cafe culture is great and you can see the hub of excitement that borders the Yarra River. There's also Crown Casino, Arts Centre and the Exhibition building nearby.

If you're into sport, the MCG and Telstra dome both have guided tours, which I'm sure are highly informative and interesting. Or if sport's not your thing, take the golden mile walk from the Immigration museum on a journey through all of Melbourne's little arcades and hidden treats!

There are plenty of pubs and clubs in town for a great night out, and there are often big shows playing at the Regent and Princess Theatres. If you're looking for something a little more intimate, try LaMamma Theatre in Carlton, walking distance from Lygon Street, the city's infamous restaurant strip featuring sumptuous cuisine's from all over the world!

Well there's just a few things off the top of my head, but definately go to the Visitor's Centre when you get here - it's the first stop in any tourist's agenda!

Are you British? Have you ever watched Neighbours?

Cheesy, but you need to do the Neighbours night! I went to one ... you go to this pub (Elephant and Castle, St.Kilda's) and a few of the stars show up, then there is a pub quiz and silly games as they come around and chat whilst doing a signing. Karl Kennedy also played with his band at the end of the night. Sounds naff, but it was such a good night out.

Williamstown village is nice to have a look at. The city centre is great too- very clean, lots of things to do. I recommend a walk around the parks that are just minutes from the centre. Go up the Rialto tower with a camera. St Kilda is okay, but Prahran, Richmond, Carlton and Fitzroy are cooler. Take a trip around on the train network and have dinner at the Blue Train Cafe on the Riverfront.

Enjoy!

Great Ocean Road, Dandenong Ranges, Mornington Peninsula, Wilsons Prom, and Phillip Island.
If u wanna get into Victoria the Grampains and Ballart/Soverign Hill are musts.
