Which cities in Australia are more affordable and at the same time have lots of fun to do for students life?

I am applying for Australia universities for my graduate studies.
I like nature and biking. I like more cold weather but well not too hot weather also is fine. I would like to study in a city in Australia that is both affordable and is easy for student life and also has a good nature and good weather compared to other cities of Australia. What is your opinion on that?

Toowoomba in Queensland ,USQ , weather not to cold and not to hot , Best Town in Australia ,not to big and not to small , Cheaper living then in the big Centres , only 90 minute drive to several beaches , Brisbane is 135 km away .

Newcastle is a city about two or three hours north of Sydney, and it has a pretty good university. There you can live on campus, for a reasonable price, and house prices are going down.
Newcastle is an especially good university for Medical degrees.
There is easy accessibility to supermarkets, beaches, restaurants, and night clubs.

It is not to cold in Winter, medium to hot in Summer, but there are plenty of beaches, some of the best in Australia!
Plenty of activities, including rock-climbing, surfing classes, go-karts, as well as your regular sporting teams.

Wollongong and Sydney are great.
But I think maybe Melbourne would suit you better. Maybe.
Good Luck with it! :)

Without knowing what you wish to study its hard to advise you. Canberra is flat (good for biking) affordable but not so much a sudent life - but is also cold in winter and not too hot in summer.

QLD is all hot - not cold. Melbourne does have some cold weather but is very hot in summer as is Perth and Adelaide. Tasmania is cold and has alot of outdoor activities (nature) and is more affordable than the other cities BUT the topics that could be studies there is less than in the oher states.

Hey man,

Melbourne is the city that you are looking for. Cold weather for nine months. Has getaway places all around it, not too expensive and awesome nightlife. Its by far the best city i have been in.

Look at the University of Wollongong.

Located 1.5 hours south of Sydney in between the coastline and the great dividing range, there are loads of places for biking and nature galore for you to explore.

The UOW is a very international university, they accept international students from all around the world. You would definitely fit in at UOW.

Wollongong is the second biggest city in NSW after Sydney and is a great regional city. There is plenty to do and it is a short commute to the city.

There is lots of student accommodation around and the people are rather friendly.

Being in NSW we experience the least 'hot' weather in Australia. While QLD is always warm and VIC, SA and WA have a frequency to heat waves, we seem to miss out and get the tail end. This past summer they had weeks of 30C+ we had 1 day reach 31C. Being on the coast keeps it cooler too. I also prefer the cold weather. All weeks its forecast to be about 20 - 22, sounds wonderful to me.

The city is student friendly, with student nights, meal deals, free entry, etc.. It is definitely cheaper then Sydney.

If you have any other questions on the area feel free to email me, I was born and bred in the good old Gong.

Here is the UOW website - http://www.uow.edu.au/
