This depends on what you want out of your lifestyle as there are other major cities as Hobart,Adelaide,Perth,Darwin,& then in each of the states there are the major cities. For example if you want to move to a warmer climate than Queensland is your first choice & Brisbane is the capitol of this state. There are alot of tourist facilities there & there is tht Goldcoast,Sunshine Coast which all have the possibility to attract people but with it comes a downside. This is that it is the perfect weather as they say but it is also becoming very populated as people are moving from the southern states to live in the warmer climate.Perth is a beautiful city of Western Australia & has beaches also but it is not regarded as a major tourist attraction & this is not saying it doesnt have the ability it is just that many people associate Australia with either Sydney Melbourne or Queensland. So it depends on what you want out of life as it will all depend on what you want as all part of Australia has its attractions on all aspects.Somw may have the beaches others may have the wildlife & others may have the old convict heritage way of life & then there is the true life of this country & this is the outback.Anywhere you go you will love it as long as you do your homework about the town & surroundings & most of all what is it that you like about this city/town.

Perth! It's very beautiful city, much smaller than Sydney or Melbourne but the job market is absolutely booming thanks to the mining boom in the state.

If it wasn't so far away I would move there myself (from Sydney).

Go to Queensland.

Don’t go to Perth, it’s horrible, has the highest home burglary rate in the country, very boring, nothing open on Sundays, stupid people that get confused by a clock. It’s the laughing stock of the country, It’s not safe, filthy locals live at the central train station and again it’s very very boring. It’s expensive and not worth it, the wages are crap (average wage there is only $500 a week, so very low – but Perth people seem to think it’s great?). The locals know nothing about anything outside of WA, WA actually stands for “Wait Awhile” as they wait so long to get anything.

When you land in Perth the captains announcement does be “welcome ladies and gentlemen to Perth, where the current climate is 30 degrees, the local time is 3pm, please wind your clocks back 40 years, enjoy your stay in Dullsville”

Go anywhere but Perth

The number one place to go is Townsville in North Queensland - beautiful one day - beautiful the next. Great lifestyle, great weather, good jobs, on the Great Barrier Reef, friendly people, plenty to see. I don't live there but would love to! Population is only about 80,000.

na dont listen to that girl above, Perth aint the place to be, trust me i work in travel, besides sydney and Melbourne, the next best place to live would definately be Brisbane, it has a great lifestyle, great weather, its in Queensland, the most popular state for tourism, its got the best beaches, and you'll only be like 30-40 mins away from Surfers paradise on the Gold Coast which in my opinion has the best nightlife in Queensland, all the brisbaners go to surfers paradise to party on the weekends, its great, trust me east coast is way better than boring old western australia, plus WA is like always 2 or 3 hours behind the rest of us.......

Fremantle West Australia port city just outside of Perth has a great lifestyle with beautiful beaches and WA is in a boom time at the moment and more people are coming from other parts of Australia to get work.
WA is the biggest revenue earner for most of Australia even though we miss out on the rewards but that is changing.
We are the only state that has cracked down on gangs and we don't have the insidious poky machines that have ruined so many lives.
My brother who lives in Melbourne said his friend came for a holiday recently and she couldn't believe what a well kept secret most of WA is and how friendly and accommodating we were and as soon as she got back she put in for a transfer to move here with her family.

Perth is by far the best place for jobs and a good lifestyle.............

Job market in Adelaide just got a lot better, with a huge naval contract going to a firm there. It will have a ripple effect through the community. Lifestyle in Adelaide is great, with the beaches, the nightlife, and the wine county. Traffic is a minus, but it is not as bad as traffic in Brissie. For lifestyle alone, look at Cairnes or Darwin. Sadly, finding work there is a bit more difficult. Perth is wonderful, as well, but it is so far from anywhere. If you want lifestyle, a job, and isolation from your family and frineds, (a fresh start, maybe???) Perth is a good choice.
