There are six States in Australia, the State with the lowest population is Tasmania. It is also the smallest State. The State with the fewest people per square kilometre is Western Australia - it is also the biggest State. The most densely populated State is Victoria. The State with the most people is New South Wales.

fanta

I would have to agree with tentofield - more accurate than the rest.

State - my guess would be Western Australia. It's very large, mostly desert, so the population per square kilometre would be less than Victoria or New South Wales, for example.

Out of the states and territories, I'd probably say Northern Territory.

Why don't you check the stats from the last census?

Woolies
South Australia.
If you're going for territory it's probably Northern.
