You won't go wrong if you visit the Whitsunday Islands,(White Haven Beach is probably the best beach in the world), they are beautiful and Fraser Island which is the biggest Sand Island in the World is also very beautiful and is a must. These Islands are on the East Coast of Oz.
If you are stay on the West Cost and near Perth head for Rottnest Island that is beautiful too. |

Moreton Island. Tangalooma to be more exact. It's an hour from Brisbane, so It's still on the East Coast. I loved Rottnest Island but being on the West Coast it moght be a bit out of the way if you want to explore other places too. Tangalooma has so many great activities- squash, archery, watersports, hiking, sandboarding, surfind, sailing, tennis, golf etc. They run tours around the island for visitors and every night they have dolphin feeding- it's free to watch but if you want to feed them yourself you have to pay. The sand dunes are HUGE and great for sliding down on a sandboard (or any other form of board!) and the blue lagoon is beautiful as long as they haven't had bushfires!
Long Island in the Whitsundays is great- closest to the harbour and more fmaily fun orientated than the more romantic getaway style Hamilton and Daydream etc. You must visit Whitehaven. If you are up for a bit more adventure, check out www.sdailing-whitsundays.com and do a 3 day sailing trip through all the islands! Best week of my life! |

Depends what you want
the islands off the Queensland are tropical and touristy
the facilities vary
the other islands mentioned are more home to people.
Tasmania is the island state. THus has a lot of diferent things to do and see.
Be prepared if you go there in winter. it can be quite cold |

Hamilton Island - lots to do, lots of young people but not teenagers, lots of fun :). Daydream Island and Hayman Island are too couple-ish. If you want a couple-ish holiday, go Daydream for price and activities to do. Hayman is too expensive and doesn't have as many facilities. |

Rottnest Island is really lovely!
It isn't too far from Perth and has everything that you could ask for
I recommend getting a boat and going over there yourself |

Tasmania. I've only lived here for three years, but there is plenty to do for everyone. |

Depends on what you're after. Norfolk Island is lovely if you want a quiet holiday on a secluded island. It's absolutely beautiful. There are many more built-up islands around the country that provide more things to do and entertainment for children and teenagers (and adults!) |
