Which one is better Australia or New Zealand?

I am thinking about working abroad though a company called BUNAC. I was wondering which one would benefit me. I want to get a tan, pick up an accent, and make friends. I just graduated with a Bachelor degree in theatre. I was thinking about moving to Melbourne, but now I don't know. I just want excitement that NZ offers, but at the same time I hate the cold. What would benefit me the most?

Are you sure you haven't got your idea of the two countries confused? More excitement in Australia not New Zealand.
More of the arts in Melbourne. More likely to get a tan in Australia as the summer lasts longer (the further north you go. The climate in Melbourne would be on a par with Christchurch. Wellington and Auckland do not have extreme cold climates - but the winters can drag on and on well past the official time for spring and summer

The answer to this would totally depend on who is telling you.

I'd say Queensland but that's only my opinion.
New Zealand gets very cold and southern Australia does too.
Anywhere from Coffs Harbour NSW north should be suitable for you. (Weatherwise)

Careerwise you'll probably need one of the capital cities.

Melbourne can get cold too !
NZ does get the four seasons, and colder further south you go. It really depends on what type of work you will be doing through BUNAC. What about Queensland? That may suit you better.

mis
australia for sure mate!!!!!!!!! nz is cool and all, but australia has so much more to offer.

Jay
Australia is better, it is a larger country and has more opportunities, it is also more well known and has a better climate.

although new zealand has a great offer,i think you should choose to go to australia.you could get the same excitement in australia. if you have children, they will have great education.you could travel to lots of places in australia during the holidays.

jade=)
Melbourne good choice
and definetly australia
trust me
i have soooo many family friends who moved to melbourne
pretty much every family friend of mine moves to melbourne as soon as they finish uni

what is the excitement that NZ offers? If you want a tan and to make friends, come to Australia. Melbourne is pretty cool. I suppose it depends on the lifestyle that you want. My brother just moved to Melbourne, and he loves it. He finds it expensive. I am not sure what Melbourne prices are in comparison to NZ though. He does spend a lot on entertainment. There is plenty of concerts, restaurants and clubs.

To the person who asked if NZ was dangerous, even though there is a lot of earthquakes very few are actually felt. I have lived here all my life and have never been in any danger from a natural disaster. On the other hand in Australia they have tonnes of venomous spiders and snakes just waiting to bite. And a very high risk of droughts and bush fires.

What excitement does NZ offer? Its boring by comparison. If your interest is in theatre, that I would suggest either Sydney or Melbourne. Weather in Melbourne does tend to get a bit colder then that of Sydney. Melbourne is known for experiencing all 4 season in one day. They are also currently experiencing a heat wave of 40+ degree temperatures, while Sydney is a nice 20-30 degrees =)

Dont go NZ.

EDIT: To the moron above me, I was born and bred in Aus, live in the Illawarra, so not city life and have never been bit by a snake or a spider, never even seen a snake outside of reptile parks and zoo's.

arbitrary k
neither. Try the US :)
