Queensland. No doubt about it. Queensland is the final stronghold of a daylight saving free summer! Yippee!

Michael
Surely it depends what you want from it as a place to live.

That depends on so many things. Weather - do you like it hot, very hot? Then Queensland or Northern Territory. Cooler, similar to UK? Try Tasmania. But for work opportunities, buzz, things to do and general joie de vivre, any of the big cities in the southern half. The ones I liked best were Melbourne and Perth, but Sydney had good points too. Be prepared for impossible sticky heat in the summer. The people everywhere are great.

That depends on your own preferance, there is no best only which is most suited to you.

Sorry this is really biased but....New South Wales (that's where I live) I love Western Australia as well when we lived there.

New South Wales.
It has Sydney, great beaches and really good rural areas.
Queensland is okay too but a bit of a hole I find, New South Wales has more. The good beaches in QLD are everywhere but in NSW you get really great beaches closer to the QLD border such as Port Macquarie and Byron Bay. Hymes Beach is beautiful too. So NSW all the way!

Victoria, and I will tell you why, west oz, is to far away from everything, south oz is like a dust bowl, northern territories to bloody hot, queensland, same as nothern territories, nsw, to expensive, and victoria, best for employment best climate, great place to live.
