Chinese - without a doubt.
I've been to the driving license office where a chinese woman was getting her license and she couldn't speak a word of English. How on earth can she read the road signs?????
And, to the first poster, this is NOT a racist question. Why can't we discuss other nationalities? |

From my expensive the worst drivers are in this order:
Oriental (has to do with the eyesight)
Blacks (no co-ordination in driving only in dancing)
Hispanics (too impatient)
Caucasian tourist (to much to drink)
Forgot this one:
Arabs or Muslims (especially if they are driving a vehicle larger than yours such as a truck, the road is theirs and they will take you with them if you don't move out of the way). |

When I was a learner driver years ago, I was having an off day, and my instructor said to me 'what do you think you're doing? You're driving like a Chinaman!' I've never forgotten it and wondered whether there's any truth to his remark or whether it's just a stereotype. |

lets face it the worst drivers are P Platers. Australias even got the statistics to prove it. It has got nothing to do with race. |

Everyone who does not speak with an Aussie accent are the worst drivers except for me that is. |

Most of them are Australians many diff origins.
Bad drivers are not limited to one race or group we are training (or not training) thousands of them from all backgrounds.
You can get a drivers license in Australia without ever having driven over 60 kph (35 mph) or in the rain or at night.
The system is designed to teach people to get a license not to teach them how to drive and survive. |

The worst drivers in Australia come from Adelaide. They will not let you change lanes in front of them. It matters not that you look, put your indicator on and start to move over, they will speed up in the other lane to stop you doing it. At least NSW drivers know how to merge, driving over the Bridge teaches them that.
The second worst are Canberra drivers. It seems that indicators in Canberra come as optional extras with cars and no-one takes up the option. If you see someone using indicators in Canberra it will be a car with NSW or Vic plates, not ACT.
There are bad drivers of every nationality and breaking the road rules is not limited to any one group. Apart from the State stereotypes I have mentioned, the worst drivers are women taking kids to and from school in 4WDs, young men and women talking on their mobile phones, and Volvo drivers. After that it is old men with hats on and women bowlers - the white leghorns. It used to be nuns as well but you can't pick them these days.
Of course I am a perfect driver. |

To Ranjeeh since when has Tasmania been a nation? I havent seen any instanaces of what you are talking about whilst in Tassie or is it a case that you were in one of the clases described above as being "tourists who had too much to drink"?
My pet hate is Victorian drivers- a very large percentage of them have questionable driving skills/ or alternatively little understanding of road rules and or no consideration ofor other drivers. There a few decent drivers but geez most of them are frightening. |

Honestly it doesn't matter about nationality it's age for me.
I'm sick of oldies that don't indicate, don't drive faster than 40kph,
don't use mirrors & don't turn their heads to check if anyones there before taking off at a snails pace, oh did I forget to mention wearing big hats whilst they are driving??? omg!!!
I feel better now I got that out Thankyou!!!! |

Lets take out the racism, without a doubt the answer is Tasmanians. Period, no discussion entered into! What nation indicates to tell you they have just turned; no not before, after they have turned! |

Australians.
Just because most people ARE Australians.
And this is not a race problem. Don't pick on other races.
I do think some uni student are more reckless drivers. My friends from uni drive with their knee, sing along with loud music, move around, talk on their mobiles, and harass pedestrians... so, do you think have an idea of the road rules? And are they Asians? NO!! (I've been studying in a town Australia.)
If there are problems as you issued, RTA should be more strict with licensing regulations. And shouldn't they be stopped by the police??? Where are the police??? |
