Who do I speak to about making an application for emigration to australia - are online companies legit?

G'day,

2 ways to do this:
1. Apply directly thru Australian High Commissions/Embassy nearest to where you live to choose what category of immigration that you want to be. This is the cheaper way but you will need to understand all the requirements and preparations by yourself. A bit difficult if your English is not very good.
2. Apply thru immigration agency. They can make a preliminary assessment of your chance to emigrate to Australia. If you have enough point, then they will help you to prepare the documents and what to do/say during the interview. This of course come at a cost, but for some ppl it is money well spent. Some agents that I know reputable are as follows:
immigration@nevile.com.au
adrian@wklawyers.com.au

Hope this helps. Good luck on your application and welcome to Australia :)

Do it all yourself to save money - and only trust agents for emigration that is advertised on the immigration government site.

this should tell you what you need to know

best way is to apply direct to the Australian High commission and get them to send you all the info for you to study first. There are some good companies out there that will do a skilled assessment for you first to estimate if you will score enough points prior to applying for skilled migration visa. These assessments range greatly in cost from expert to expert 110 pounds up to 400 pounds. The visa can cost another 2000 for a family of 2 adults and 2 kids.
You can print off the application for visa off the Internet if you log into the Australian high commission

I would avoid companies claiming to put an application in for you - do it all yourself!!

As tuppenybitz said, start with the Department of Immigration and Citizenship web page at http://www.immi.gov.au
This will give you all the information you need to get you started and also has all the forms you will need to fill in. Start there and think about getting help only if you get stuck. It will save you a lot of money.

Go to the australian government web page. They will tell you all you need to know for imigration, qualifications you need, how much money etc. You can also email them too. Good luck

You have to go in person to Australia House in London. I know this as my sister emigrated to Australia a number of years ago, and my eldest son was considering the move a few years ago.

do not trust any online companies
contact the Australian High Commission in the area closest to you first. They will give you info and tell you the official gov't website to download any applications you need.
