Well everyone has their own opinions. I am from Australia and i find the New Zealand accent seriously annoying, but i bet loads of other countries find the Australian accent annoying. By the way, loving the American accent!

God, you're so right. Their accent is so "thuck".

The other answerer is right. When you watch their news, you will really won't know what's going on cos you will be concentrating on how annoying and weird the accent is.

People have mostly heard the Aussie accent a lot more (Steve Irwin, Kath & Kim and other internationally famous Aussies). So they will say it's annoying when they haven't even heard of the Kiwi accent because it's been OVERSHADOWED by our accent.

Really, wait till they hear the NZ.

It depends what NZ accent you are speaking of. I hae friends from down south (Inercargill) who speak by rolling their r sort of like the Irish and then there is alot of Auckland that speak really thick eg fush and chups. It just depends where you come from but the majority of NZ sounds like Australians just wothout the twang.

Honestly, I find all accents annoying.

I can handle then for a short while but not long term, I could never date someone with an accent it would drive me insane.

There's nothing wrong with an Aussie accent and I've never heard it been picked on, others love it. You obviously haven't heard an American accent, your's is rather annoying, especially the southern ones arghh.

Not everybody loves the whining female Americans accent either, its ANNOYING.

As a kiwi I find the Australian accent rather "sharp"..however in New Zealand we are surrounded by a wide range of accents on TV, with kiwi shows as well as australian, american and british shows. Australians do not tolerate the kiwi accent as well as they do not hear it as often as we do. Its the same with americans...they do not hear other accents and is why you need subtitles on british programmes (ok some british accents can be hard to understand, but Coronation street??!).
I personally think the kiwi accent is not as harsh as the Australian, with the aussie accent sounding very cockney on tv ( or when people try to immitate it) .
