Australia is everything really its the beach, the bush, the city and the desert. Its big and in some places its hot others it cold. I personally think Sydney's Northern beaches( where i live) is awesome as where right on the beach close to great attractions, shopping, restaurants (the city) and theirs always a nice park or bush to chillax in.
Lots of people here hate America,(their just being stupid and ignorant though) I've only noticed this recently as I wat to move their (what's it like by the way?)

I've was born here and I love it.
This morning it's warm and sunny.
Where I am, it's 7.35am Monday morning.
We live in a very multicultural, tolerant and reasonably safe country.
We have good education and health care available to everyone not just the rich.
We have very strict gun laws and very few ordinary citizens have or feel the need to have a gun of any kind.
I can't comment on what other people in Australia think, but in my opinion George W Bush has been a complete laughing stock and Sarah Palin isn't any better. That woman is a joke. Unfortunately she could soon be a heart beat away from being president. |

Born and bred in Australia. My partner is American but now lives with me full time in Australia. Its an amazing country. I have been to the states many many times and I would say the biggest difference is the availability of things in the States. For example, (now keep in mind I live in Regional NSW) After 8pm nothing is open. Our version of Wallmart, known here as Woolworth's, closes at 8pm every night and after that, nothing is open. In the cities its a little different.
Now here in Australia, if you take away the 4 major cities, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth, the average city in Australia has a population of 30,000 people,. That's a big step from the States.
As to what I personally think of America... Is there anyway to answer that question without upsetting someone??? |

I was born here and it's my home. My observations are to follow (note: they are mine alone and I don't mean to offend anyone.)
I love:
The outback, the red dust and the friendly people
I love swimming in the murky rivers
I love the wide open spaces
I love BBq's and Beer
I love the way we talk and the Australian slang
I don't love:
The way we are turning into a mini America
How materilistic we have become and the loss of community
The rising cost of living
What I think about America:
I want to see New Orleans and some of the west
I find American people to be pushy and rude (sorry, but you asked)
I don't like the accent
I HATE how American guys come over here and tell me how they always hear Australian men treat women like S*&T. That's not true - I love aussie blokes and while the American men I have met speak more polite, open doors ect I always think it's all a big act. Aussie men tell it how it is but that is part of their charm. (sorry for my rant but I worked in a bar that saw a lot of Americans and they always said that to me) |

I live on the Sunshine Coast Queensland and love it here as we are close to the beaches and the hinterland towns which has become very touristy, especially Montville. Our life style is just fabulous and laid back and everyone is friendly towards strangers by saying hello to them when passing them by in the street.
As for America!, I am so glad I don't live there at present with the trouble America has got itself into and I would like to see Obama win the elections than McCain and Sarah Palin. I love the American accent too. |

Most amazing place ever. we literally have everything at our feet, from beach to bush. yes we do live in the real world with economic crisis and so forth but i havent talked to anyone yet who feels unsettled. it takes a lot for australians to be worried.
my personal opinion of america is greed. but i know thats not everyone, but thats the general impression i feel, they tell us its greed that got us all in this financial mess. but i love that america has fought for its land and has prospered since! |

Australia - great place to come home to after travelling overseas and experiencing other cultures.
Clean, friendly, affordable.
Most people I know don't have a high opinion of Americans, but that could be because of the adverse publicity received here (high crime, superficial celebrities, quality of elected presidents).
Hypocritically we imitate all things American, so go figure.... |

I do and I think living here is fantastic.
Australians actually don't cr where you come from. Treat us the way you want to be treated and we will welcome you with open arms. We don't generally think bad of Americans. It's just that some Americans come here and show little respect for other cultures as well as make it out as if everything over there is bigger and better - well, that's when we say to them - why the hell did you come here then?
I have been to visit the USA briefly . and I honestly... I prefer to live in Australia.

It's a very nice country. It's not that cold, which is quite good for me. I would love to live here all my life. =)
People (in my school, especially) treat America like God. LOL. They act American, some use American slang, most like American stuff (films, TV shows, etc.) and some want to go to America and see how it's like. |

Living in Australia is fantastic. We have a great life style. We are very laid back with a unique sense of humor. We have a lower crime rate than U.S are less stressed about things. We do not mind Americans. They are always welcome in Aus. We don't give a rats butt about the Election but we are force fed heaps of it. I would not mind visiting America one day but I have not seen everything in this country I want to see yet. |
