he is the leader of the labour party, which is right now in opposition. he is slightly more left wing then jhon, he is saying he is going to reform education and healthcare and that he will cap CO2 emissions.
i dont know what all Australians think of him but most of the polls have him ahead by 5-10% points of jhon on preferred PM and primary votes. |

I don't like John Howard and I do feel Kevin Rudd is only marginally better. I'm a Greens party voter. |
|

FFS what's with the names?
|
Kevin Rudd is the leader of the main opposition party in Australia, the ALP. See the link below for information about him.
As we are shortly to have an election, we will find out if Australians prefer him to John Howard then, I guess.
Cheers :-) |

mouse_gi capped this Q. neatly enough , but , as with ANY election , voters won`t decide who is better until the day arrives! Many factors favour Kevin Rudd , in the fact that he is verbally challenging the voting public to THINK about this election and not try-ing to out-bluff the current Government to get involved in a slanging match that WILL divert the thinking of the Individual (who has , by now , already made up his/her mind) on how to vote on 24/11/07! Regarding the accuracy of "Polling"....don`t really trust what-ever the Media spouts on about , I am 44yrs. old and have been on the Electoral roll since i turned 18,,,I`ve NEVER been Polled AND I find it an absolute mockery of Opinion (and an insult) that the Media Tarts can state that I am a "Percentage" of what may happen during the Election. like any-thing in life , you have to look BETWEEN the lines and I personally think that John Howard has treated the THINKING person with too much Contempt for TOO long and that he also knows this..Rudd is a Contender , by him-self and a good possibility to up-set J.H. , simply by "being there"....oh , by the way , can ANY-BODY give ME Factual evidence that J.H. had an EXPERIENCED TEAM ON HIS SIDE when he was first elected? I`ve never voted for him , so i`m the first " O " to that claim! |

He is a member of the nastiest party in our country I admire the way little Johnny has kept our country i believe we have never had it so good and n the past when the uncaring untrained unwanted unloved undesirable Labor party was in it was always an enormous unwanted struggle to have a decent living |

Personally, I can't really take him seriously because he seems to "cute" and "innocent"...and unexperienced. We won't know for certain how most people think of him until the night of the 24th November (when the results from the voting is known). All/most polls that have been done are not accurate as they don't ask enough people's opinions.
Rudd isn't really any different from John Howard other than that he is in the opposition and has an unexperienced team behind him. |

Prime minister candidate. I like Rudd and I've always voted for labour. I reckon Howard really screwed up Australia. I mean, instead of moving forward as a country and learning from other countries mistakes, he just follows (such as the GST and Free Trade agreement). |

He's the guy who eats his ear wax on TV. He wants to be our new Prime Minister. He keeps using his fingers to count, knocks John Howard constantly, is really annoying - but he's got a good chance because people are sick of Johnny. Trouble is... is it better to keep the devil we know, or to try something different. He says we need 'new' leadership - he doesn't say we need 'better' leadership - new isn't always better. We're all confused at the moment. The voting day will decide. |

Kevin Rudd is the leader of the Australian Labor Party.
Up until recently, after some back stabbing to become leader of the party, he was the most nasty, sneering, detestable member of that party.
Now that he is lobbying for prime minister he is publically displaying smiling 'baby faces' all the time. Sickening to watch by those who knows what he is really like.
The unwashed & the uneducated will vote for him though. They mistakenly think he will keep his election promises! |
