Hmmmmmm, it would be a toss up, out of Cold Chisel, INXS and AC/DC.
My vote goes to INXS. |

Silverchair a 90s grunge band, who has limited sucess in the u.s. a lot of people will dissagree but that is my choice |

personally I have an affinity with many aussie acts but think that the best ever will have to be ac/dc they have conquered the globe and then some.
I like the ones you mentioned but dont forget to add inbands like powderfinger, something for kate and regurgitator just to add a few more into the mix |

ACDC has had the biggest impact of any other band. How many bands have you heard say were inspired by them, and they're more international than any other Aussie band I've heard of. |

Captain Matchbox and the Whoopee Band. No? Then it would have to be the Easybeats. Those guys inspired AC/DC and dozens of other good bands.

My picks for the moment would be for best up and coming bands: Ten Foot Tall, a heavy rock band from Tasmania, and Karnivool, from WA.
As far as well known, and current, I'd have to say Powder Finger and Silverchair.
And as for old school bands, probably AC/DC, and anything Jimmy Barnes had to do with.
Can't say I agree with people putting forward inxs, I never understood the attraction to them, they were, and are extremely average, and michael hutchins was a talentless tool. |
