I like Adelaide.
It's not very busy like Sydney and Melbourne. This means less traffic, so it doesn't take long to get form one side of the city to the other.
I also like the way Adelaide is planned out, with all the streets in a grid like pattern. I find its easier to get around here, more so than in Sydney and Melbourne.
Although we're less populated and smaller than most other Australian cities we're not a tiny ghost town. There are always places to go to and things on.
The weather is also really nice, we don't get extreme conditions.
Also, there are some really nice towns to visit along the coast. They are all about an hour from Adelaide and make great holiday destination. I Especially love Kangaroo Island. There are some fantastic beaches there, and it's only two hours from Adeliade.
Finally, I love Adelaide because the "gems of Adelaide still remain best kept secrets. Those who live here know what it has to offer and appreciate it. Those who don't live here will never get it." |

In the UK there's a TV prog called "A Place in the Sun2. Last week it featured Adelaide, and I fell in love with it! Next time I visit my sisters in WA. I'm having a stop-over there to explore it a bit. When my son was on his gap-year he 'did' Oz, and it was his favourite place. |

LOVE IT!
I've been to Melbourne (too cold), Sydney (too big), Brisbane (well, not bad actually, but too far away from my friends). I've lived in adelaide for four years now and wouldn't live anywhere else. I like that I can go out at night and there's heaps of places to choose from, love going down to Glenelg, shopping at Rundle/Marion/Harbor Town and all the cool old buildings Adelaide has. |

If you don't have anything good to say about Adelaide, without a proper reason (Iskandite), then please say nothing at all.
I love Adelaide, I have lived here my entire life (20) yet I can find something to do almost every weekend, and I never tire of it.
Night life, shopping ( God bless marion, so many shops, so close together :P) Zoo's, Beaches (Kangaroo Island has the best beach in Australia).
There's pretty much something for everyone!
Enough said, I am in love |

Adelaides dead, nothing is open on weekends, the City is virtually shut, if you go for a drive through the hills you cant even find a bakery open to get some food, its just a boring place, there's the Barossa, if your into wine fine but that is it back home, there's Glenelg if you like a beach, and that's about it, I mean there's places to go like Victor Harbour where, but when you get there there's just pubs and that's it, there's never anything to do at any place in Adelaide except sit in a pub and enjoy a view. Its a boring, quiet town, oh we have more murders and gang violence now than ever before, that's changed over the years and I'll give you three guesses why that is, it's called 'Living in Harmony" I call it something else. |

I live in Adelaide. I think it has good public transport an it's clean but it's really, really, really boring. All we have is Rundle Mall and nothing interesting happens. It's not developing into a city, no bands come here, everybody overlooks Adelaide. |

I lived there for a year...I like some of it....it has beautiful buildings and coast..but the shops and the fashion are SO behind compared to Europe...it reminded me of England in the 1970s. |

Its a very neat and clean city surrounded by a cool range of hills / small mountains named The Lofties and also some OK beaches. It had a bit of nightlife and hippy vibe in the seventies much of which is a blur to me though I was there. ( I think ? )
Now Adelaide is mostly like a wife plus kids come teenagers who wont leave home scene. Its really hard to roust up any passion or dare in the people and I have many relatives living there who are rather boring. It has a nice climate and some really interesting surrounding parts of S.A. are well worth visiting like The Fleureau Peninsula Clare Valley and Barossa etc. I can do a couple of weeks visiting folks in Adelaide but then I have to split through boredom and head for Melbourne where theres much more going on and more lively spirit.
Also Adelaide hides some grim and sinister dark secrets of murder weirdness and children vanishing. Too many english and churches in a compounded place. Demons !
Edit:
Ok thumb downers you asked for it.

No, Adelaide is the boring capital of Australia.
Very little progress is made.
