People wont live in the desert because there is no mobile phone service for vast areas of inland Australia.

I know because I work there!!!

And we all know how some people can't be without their mobiles!

There are many areas of the desert where the water level is not far below the surface. All the aboriginal communities exist on bore water.

Cost of food (especially fresh stuff); isolation; cost of booze - when you can get it!; no McDonalds, KFC or Hungry Jacks ..... all contribute to making life difficult.

no water.no food sources other than camels and it's products.no vegetation can be done there.it is only possible when the vegetation is done by transporting soil from other places.

FFS what's with the names?
The government tried that, but it turned out the Baxter resort wasn't all that popular and they had to abandon it.

And with the drought the way it is, how are you going to get water to mix your cement for unti building, way out there in the desert?

Cheers :-)

Where there is not enough water - there is no life. That's why it's called DESERT.

Does this explain it?

By the way, doesn't matter what desert I'm talking about. It's the same anywhere on earth.
