Why do Auzzies consider New Zealanders to be sheep rooters?

I have absolutely no idea, and being an Aussie, I am quite unimpressed by any New Zealander jokes involving sheep.

Probably because there are about 6 sheep for every man, woman and child in the country. But don't fret, other countries do the same thing to their near neighbours. The English use the exact same bad jokes on the Welsh. The Americans use Bear jokes on the Canadians. I am sure there other examples of this.

Australia and New Zealand have had a roughly 200 year history of being friendly rivals in everything from sport, culture, trade, tourism - you name it. You probably hear more sheep jokes because there are more Aussies. The Kiwis have Australian jokes to comeback with too (not that I can remember to many of them).

If the Kiwis are feeling not amused, think of the poor Tasmanians that have been called much much worse (usually involving genetic heritage or a certain surgical mark on their necks - you get picture?).

Australian humour can get quite quite twisted. A lot of it does come from the Pommie (ahem - Brits) heritage where the humour can be quite cutting and cruel if you pay attention to it. The best way to deal with those kind of jokes is to send an even funnier one about the Aussies as a comeback. Aussies will be tickled by that. They love to spar.

Because New Zealanders root sheep? But seriously now folks. It's just friendly banter. No need to get your knickers is a twist. I've gotten worse than that back from Kiwis and have had to take it on the chin. So lighten up. And if you think the jokes are stupid then you haven't heard some of mine. Be cool my man. Cheers.

Well simply cause there is meant to be alot of sheep there it is pretty stupid but things stick you know ,i mean us auzzies could be kanga rooters :)

lol thats because the jokes are stupid and lame. Im half samoan half cook island but grew up in aus and apparently thats the only joke they can come up with. I wouldnt worry about it too much aussies are playful little creatures
