Why do Kiwis love to say OZ crime is worse?

Why do Kiwis love to say OZ crime is worse?
When you look at the facts More crime on average is committed in NZ than in OZ.

But Kiwis love to lie and state this false fact WHY?
Additional Details
I think they are smartin a way and try to give the world the clean and safe image that they try to portry in adverts why lying and saying that OZ is worse when Oz on average terms is allot safer.

I guess they have nothing better to do..sad really

maybe just to cover up the fact that they do worse than the aussies crime wise.just look at that child abuse case there in nz where they put a 3 yo girl in a dryer, hanged her in a clothesline then spun her till she flew out of it then wrestled her.

i dont really care what the crime rate is....only if its a nightly murder in my area.

But I also dont care about how many brands I have to choose from or the fact that I dont have air conditioning

i know where you thought of this question from :-)

Why do Kiwis love to say OZ crime is worse because they are the ones doing all the crime

inside knowledge from the kiwi's

Luke L
Well easy, because the facts are Australia has a far more diverse range of cultural backgrounds therefore more crime is committed in Australia. Dont go making it a personal attack on Kiwis, it not thier fault they have everything better there than we do. It seems like us Aussies appear to be jealous of so many things of the kiwis, right down to the fact that our ANCESTORS came from criminals.

patriotism?

perhaps more crime per capita, but we have a much larger population so overall we probably do have more crime committed here.

Thats a pretty general statement I have loads of NZ friends and we have kind of got over comparing which country is better, who cares, enjoy life and treat people as people and just get over it!
