Being Australian I'd like to think it's because they would like a cultural exchange with the people of Australia and to see things of interest absent in their own country. That's why a large proportion of Australians travel all over the world.

Add - blah!blah... Helps when there's a bit of strife, what with having the whole Pacific between us and the rest of ya!

Why wont they? It is a beautiful country to visit with beautiful people in it. Also while we are freezing here in USA, Australians are at the beach enjoying the sun and that thing we call LIFE

Because of Oscar the Kangaroo. And George the Dingo...that's why.

wolflady
You should come over here and find out for yourself!!!

As an American who has been to Australia, I can say that there are many reasons: 1) education, 2) cultural enrichment, 3) entertainment, and 4) it's just plain FUN! And let's not forget, Australians are great people. There is much to be learned from observing different ways of life, different philosophies, and different attitudes. There are several world heritage sites, including the Great Barrier Reef and the nearby rain forests. I treasure the memory of my trip (7 years ago) and hope that sometime again, I can afford to return to Australia.

To go roo shooting, of course.

Your question is not detailed enough.People go to Australia for lots of reasons.Tourism is a big one because of the variety of things
to see here. There are plenty of great beaches and good seaside holiday places. There are major cities such as Sydney,Melbourne,
and Brisbane with plenty of sports and entertainment facilities.
People also come here for work and to settle. It has a stable political system and has good educational opportunities.

To see what being in the land of the truly free is all about as opposed to the imitation version and to have a great holiday of course.

THE SAME REASON AS AUSTRALIENS GO TO OUTHER COUNTRIES...TO VISIT..TO HOLIDAY ...OR BUISNESS

khatora
probably because it is a wonderful place and especially to see the famous architect in the world(Sydney opera)

I've no idea. Honestly, the people are nice although there's something known as the "tall poppy syndrome". Unfortunately, the airport customs and officials are among the rudest in the world. It's also really humid in the summer.
