Why do you like Australia so much?

Hi everyone

I am an Australian and I am really happy when I read comments from so many people saying they dream of visiting/living in Australia.

I love Australia but I guess because we are so isolated from the world we don't get to hear a lot of feedback about our country. So I am interested to know what it is that appeals to the international Answers community about Australia? Is it the beaches, weather, the people?
Additional Details
To yahwoon - I did not ask why you hated Australia. I am sorry you feel this way about our country but I love the fact that we have embraced so many new cultures. It makes things more interesting. If that is your attitude I hope you find a new country to move to.

ooo i have been there twice for holidays and i love it! the people there are oh-so-friendly, be it service line people or simply strangers on the streets! even though the weather is abit too dry there (i had to marinate myself in moisturizer before i get out into the open so that i wont crack :p), i had a great time there visiting all the natural attractions there, like the great ocean road! it is a beautiful place! and not to mention the shopping bit too! anyway i will be going there next year to study for my degree so i AM REALLY looking forward to going back to aussie again!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

The Aussies are a friendly bunch, the beaches are terrific, the Sheilas are even better, the barbies are second to none, The sense of humor is fair dinkum and the outback is .. well the outback. G'day to ya Sheila.

I like the girls. You all seem so happy, and not all ****** up and spoiled like American girls. Most of you could kick the snot out of American chicks too. And you are a pretty bunch of girls as well.

Lived in Oz while in uni and absolutely loved the country. Beautiful beaches, laid-back lifestyle and friendly people(most)

It's very different from my homeland where a typical workday can be up to 12 - 14 hours. This means you hardly get to spend time with family and friends. Main reason I want to get back to Oz

been there done that

i love australia. i was born here and so has the rest of my family including grandparents and so on. i guess it is because we have so much things to do, you can travel around australia without having a pasport. loving australia is in my blood

We have what others do not have. Space to move.
This huge place only houses 21 million people.

The beaches are trully magnificent all around the country. You can choose to visit rainforest, snow fields, go fossicking for gems or gold, ramble in the outback, see millions of years of age mountain ranges, swim with dolphins, do harbour cruises, surf or just tan on the beach. Visit a casino in any state, watch International acts on stage anywhere and generally find warm and friendly people.

With all that is happening around the world with terrorism Australia is an isolated place that does not have the same threat as other places on the world and we have the benefit of checking everyone who comes in or goes out of this country to alert us if someone is not a tourist and is here for other activities.

The race riots at Cronulla were a disgrace and the police should have used water cannons on them. Thats what happens when "kids" and alcohol get together. That is not what Australians are like and not what we want this country to be like.

Not true ! Racist, always have some racial riots but many they likes the land and the ocean natural view, aboriginals and animals like koala and kangaroos etc.
