Why is Australia city life, shopping oportunities and theme parks so limited and boring? |
I have been thinking about this laterly and think it isn't far from true, unless your into sports, outdoor things, etc, Australia can be boring, Comared to other countries such as South Korea, Japan, USA, Canada, UK and European countries, why has Australia been so far behind in city life, shopping opportunities and theme parks so limited and boring??? and I am more into city life, shoppy and theme parks, australia doesn't seem to offer much and want to leave, because its so ******* hot, what do you all think??? |

I think that a lot of people think the grass is greener on the other side.
In this case it may be due to you having done everything here that you want to, and you see more opportunites in other countries.
That is one of the reasons that many migrants come here to Australia. They have "done" their country, and are moving on to something more exciting.
I ran out of things to interest me in the UK, but have plenty to do here in Australia. It is all part of living ;) |

im an outdoorsy type person, i love hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, mountain climbing, scuba diving, and because of that i love australia. thats what makes australia, what it is the outdoor life. i was told australia cares more about traveling, being in outdoors, and when i say outdoors im not meaning walking down the street to the store. to australians life is best when you are in the wild when you are traveling. they dont care about fashion, or anything like that like the other countries do.
thats why i love australia, i hate city life and everything about living in a city |

Australia isn't boring, we just have a more laid back lifestyle and we aren't as obsessed with material things like some other countries. Its not hot right now, its winter. If you dont like it, no ones making you stay here... |

We dont need Aussies like you here. If you dont like it, leave. |

That's one of the reason we love Australia so much, it does have enough city life for most people, we are just not obsessed with it. |

I live in Perth.. We have very little..
BUt I like it that way..
I think if your after the city life, Australia might not be the best place for you..
That's what I find appealing about it.. No giant cities with unfriendly people etc etc ( not saying they all are.. but people don't tend to go out of their way to talk to you.. compare it to a Aus country town? lol)
Soon enough most of the world is going to turn into the over populated cities... I wanna make the most of what we have..
But then again, each for their own..
(I like the space, I own horses you see.. haha)
As for heat.. It's not hot everywhere in Australia.. |

Actually, I kinda like Australia...but each person is different. Your country is young compared to the ones you listed--in 100 years who knows what it will be like. |

We're not behind in city life, shopping, theme parks etc. We just don't have a large enough population to sustain any improvement or increase. Glad you can afford to continually spend money on city shopping and entertainment. For most people it's a special treat, so you must be earning a very good income. |

It no doubt has a lot to do with Australia being a lot younger and with less population than the countries you mention.
It also has a lot to do with your own perspective and lifestyle. Life will only be what you make of it. There are many activities available to you in Australia that are not available anywhere else in the world.
Sure, if it's huge 24 hour cities, neon lights and theme parks you're after .. you'd be better off visiting the US or Europe etc.
The best part about Australia is exactly that .. its not like the other parts of the world. We are still relatively 'behind' and very laid back .. and the majority of folk here are pretty happy about that :))
Regardless, Australia is undoubtedly one of the safest and best places to live in this world of ours. |

Whatever you think, But that's a MASSIVE GENERALISATION don't forget Australia has 20mil and the USA has 300mil so you would expect them to have more variety for their size.
Oh yeah there is no way Canada is better than Oz in the entrainment aspect because it gets frigging cold and all you want to do is sleep and do nothing so I so we are on even keel on that one.
Keep in mine Australia's isolation is a hindrance and we Aussies have a different aspect to city life compared to Europe and the USA but that's changing.
If its hot go to the shopping centre or maybe come over when its winter because in Brisbane Its always around 20 to 25 degrees which is perfect so use common sense next time. |
