mmmmm....I agree with K bear et al...this is the wrong section to post this question...but seeing you have I feel compelled to give you an answer.

The problem that the rest of the world has with the US at present, and this isnt slanted towards either the Republican or Democratic side is that you seem to have no concept of how to conduct yourselves on the world stage. You have the lowest rate of passport ownership in the Western World so its no wonder you seem to have little idea of the world at large. You selfishly declare the American dream as if it is you god given right no matter what expense to the rest of the world. You emit greenhouse gases with impunity whilst refusing to endorse the Kyoto treaty, you invade sovereign countries on the flimiest of reasons and seem to have little respect for other cultures. You seem to have not noticed the fact that the rest of the world has caught up ie China, India & other emerging countries and that these new powers are not prepared to be ordered around by the US. I suggest that all Americans read the book "The Post American World" written by an Indian born US citizen. It should be compulsory for you.

So where am I going with this? Whether we have another closet neo con President with a white trash hockey mum vice president or an African American sound bite President with a Congressional hack vice president makes very little difference to the average punter (non American). Until America wakes up to the realities of the modern world it will just be more of the same!

Thats my two bobs worth...I will sit here now and wait for the hate mail....perhaps I should postpone that Alaskan cruise I was thinking about???

You have a very good point. I expect she'll do better than anyone expected. People usually find someone to gang up on, and she's this seasons pick. She IS less experienced than Joe Biden, less scholarly than Obama. They hate the FEWof her views they know. And they gang up on her because others do, too. She knows far more than many of her detractors. She IS after all, still a GOVERNOR. If she blows it, so be it. Save her the humiliationof 4 years. I think she'll do okay. Biden also makes a few gaffs. The most recent one last week, talking about the great depression and FDR on TV. Of course, FDR wasn't Prez then, and no one was going on the infant TV.
