Why was sound relief in Sydney? |
Why was it held in Sydney when the bush fires were in Victoria and the floods were in Queensland?
Also i know Melbourne had one as well but Sydney had better bands at there's Additional Details hmm.. i was just asking! nice for you all to make me feel bad! No, I'm not jealous, I was asking why it was held in Sydney and i thought they had better bands there. You didn't have to go on with all the negative stuff! |

The thing is those concerts aren't like the everyday ones you go to. If you only cared about having fun on the day, then you should have a lot to think about those who have lost their homes and such.
We came together as a nation to help. It doesn't matter which state or city it is in - we were sending out a message of hope. The fact Sydney and Melbourne are the two largest cities makes it much easier for people to reach out. It has always been like that for other events too.
If you want them to come to your city, then MONEY? Will you be generous enough to pay them to go to wherever you are? Those concerts were NOT for leisure and the money don't go to the performers.
"Sydney had better bands at theirs..." - that sounds like a child going to their parents "It's not fair! How come he/she gets more than I do?!"
If you don't like to accept help from others or don't like helping others yourself, don't expect help from others when you need it. |

Because most people aren't ungrateful. They will accept the money, no matter where it was raised. The fact that there was no bush fires or flooding in NSW, made it possible for more people to donate as they don't need the money themselves towards repairs or a new home, etc..
There were well known acts at both concerts, which were better is a matter of opinion. These acts were all voluntary, so they went to the location nearest to where they were. When they are donating their time and talent you can't expect them to travel and fork out for accommodation elsewhere.
I don't see why you care, the idea is to help the people who lost their houses. Why not just be appreciative that so many people are helping out. |

because sydneys bigger and has more population so more people can go and raise more money. |

ahhhh Lala .. whether or not Sydney had better bands really is a matter of opinion.. I didn't go to the concert but much would have prefered the Melbourne concert over the sydney
... it was also about who was touring at the time and where they were touring ....
and Sydney has a BIG population so it made sense to have the concert there rather than Brisbane ( THINK ABOUT IT A LITTLE ???)
EDIT: Lala that is exactly what I wrote... It was a matter of opinion re the better concert,, :) |

Yep, larger population means more money raised.
You sound jealous. |

g'day Lala,
Thank you for your question.
There were probably a couple of reasons. Firstly, it has a bigger population so it could raise more money. Secondly, I suspect that it was more convenient for artists as many of the artists on the bill are based in Sydney. It was a matter of opinion as to which concert had the best lineup as both had a high quality bill.
