Will $700 be enough for a 1 week holiday on the GoldCoast? |
We might visit 1 theme park. All accomodation is paid for as well as flights. We will be doing a shop and cooking most nights. Probably going out for dinner 1 night. We will be going out and about during the night. HELP!!! Additional Details Al up there are 6 of us, maybe 7. We will all be putting in for a major grocery shop and booze shop so we can drink before we go out at night. Were stayin right on Cavill Ave so taxis arent needed and as for theme parks if we go to one it'll be via bus. The only other thing we wanted to do was hire vespas for a day and apparently theres a club crawl on a wednesday night. |

As long as you don't go overboard & depending on what sort of nightlife you are talking about !
If it's beach & sun you are looking for we don't charge for that ...yet! |

Well that's $100 per day.. If your frugal you will get by, but most attractions on the G.C are pay to see. Food and drinks are always a major expense so eating and drinking at home will always help out. The beach is free!!
Check out the river cruises they are cheap and good to see how the other half live.
Site below list free discounts. Ebay is a good start for major attraction tickets too.
WOW with 6 or 7 people on $700 for a week that's stretching the friendship. I'm thinking 2 adults and 4/5 kids will get by but 6/7 adults will have to do some busking..... :) |

Depends how many people there are.
Surfers Paradise supermarkets usually jackup the prices for groceries and well anything really. Try to go to a suburb and get grocerirs there.
Personally i think you might need a bit more maybe $900 $1000? |

I guess it depends on how many of you there are, but for a couple, $700 should be enough if you're not doing much dining out. Buy your theme park tickets before you go as it will save 10% or so. If you're a member of RACQ or NRMA or one of the other automobile clubs, the RACQ is the best place to get them.
EDIT:
I've just seen that there are 6 or 7 of you. I think you should be doing another whiparound! It'll cost you half that for your one dinner and if you need to pay club cover charges and incidentals, I'd be surprised if $700 will last more than a few days. Also, if anyone drinks anything more than beer or goon, that will push it even further. |

Well gorceries for one person per week are usually around $50. (That's a pretty standard amount) But that times 7 people is half your money spent already. The theme parks cost about $50 per person and that is just to get in... you always spend more on food and drink and 'toys' when you get there. If you do a club/pub crawl you will need a fair bit as some places cost you just to enter - and you will not be allowed to bring your own alcohol. I would suggest that $700 per person would be fine... but $700 between 6-7 people? No way. Sorry, you will all need to save up a bit more.
EDIT: Ok - sorry about that... $700 just for yourself will be plenty to get by on. Just don't be silly with your money and it will be fine. And I hope you have a good time! |

I was there in January for 10nights,And didnt spend near that amount of money. Closer to maybe $450 - 500.
I did have a few drinks in the hotel room before going out everynight. That saved money buying a case at a bottle shop. And getting tipsy b4 going out |

sounds suspiciously like schoolies.....
700 will be plenty, considering you're eating at home most of the time. |

Well if all else is paid for i dont see why not. i depends if u wanna buy alot of stuff as surfers paradise can be a bit expensive. if u go to harbour town for you shopping u'll get alot more for your money. or even pacific fair. plus transport in atxis arent cheap so take public transport.
it depends how many people. if u go to a thempark i suggest dreamworld as it has everything. better rides all the animals etc.
EDIT***u might want a bit more money just incase. |
