There will be no Australian Big Brother at all after this year.

There have been a number of nasty scandals both in the way the voting works and between housemates in the last few years. Big Brother has also been called to task about the level of in show product placement and marketing that goes on. Most importantly several unofficial blogging sites have been taking them to task (and getting much media interest because of it) over the amount of audience manipulation and content editing that goes on.

Putting it simply, the audience is growing up, the show is no longer bringing anything interesting or new to make it worthwhile and they're turning the whole show into a cruel marketing ploy.

There was a celebrity Big Brother season in about the second year it was running I think, 2002 I guess it was. It failed dismally and they never repeated the exercise.
With other shows like Dance and even the aging Idols doing better it was all a matter of time really.

You know a show is on the skids when they bring Kyle Sandilands into it. That's a guaranteed sign its about to be axed. Watch out Idols your next. Gretel got out in time to be remembered for the good times instead of the bad. She's the smartest one there. The audience however is getting smarter.

BB is getting axed horrahh !!! i hate that show im sorry to those that like it but a show that uses peopel as rats in a maze isent very amusing.

Nope. BB is getting cut off the air. The ratings have gone down dramatically. They choose such crap people to go into the house. No one interesting. The best thing that they could of done was put someone in that doesn't have a high pitched voice. Drives me up the wall.

Big Brother has finished. There will be no new season of the current version of Big Brother, nor will there be a Celebrity Big Brother in Australia. This season is the final, no more, nothing, nada...

No, big brother is being axed.. So there wont be anymore seasons of big brother after this one.

There hasn't been a celebrity big brother for a few years., They only did it once.

BB is getting axed but i did see that they were putting a show on the air in 2010 that has a similar format to BB, so who knows.
