With the unexpected death of Steve Irwin yesterday, does it make you want to travel to Australia and dive....?

the Great Barrier Reef or has it made you fearful of the unknown elements of the ocean and made you not want to see the beauty of the Reef?
Additional Details
just to clear things up...im not scared, in fact I have a trip planned to Batt Reef next week. I live in Cairns, and have grown up on the Reef, swimming, snorkelling and diving...and some fishing of course. I have encountered Tiger Sharks, stingrays, seasnakes, mantarays (which are not dangerous but daym they are so big you cant help but be a little scared). I was on a shallow reef and looked up to be surrounded by about 50+ black tip reef sharks...I never even got out of the water....

What happened to Steve was a freak accident, he wasn't aggravating the animal at all.
If you are going to let things like that scare you off, I have to ask if you see a car crash, do you think twice about driving?
Please, this is a rough time, if you want to comment, at least be sensible.
You are talking about an environment Steve has been fighting for, as he has done for many areas and animals.

only a low educated moron would be scared by this event and it would be in total direspect of Steve! what happened is a huge loss to conservation education, the world has lost a brilliant man, but steve would want us to appreciate and love all wild life like he did and not be scared or put off by one tragic event.....only 3 people between 1788 and 2006 have died from a ray in Oz....

Steve Irwin's death was tragic and a great loss to the animal kingdom. It shows you, that no matter what you are doing, in or out of the water, unexpected death can come at any moment. It is wise to be fearful and very cautious of the unknown. It doesn't mean you should quit living. Thank God for every moment you have and make the best of every moment.

I couldn't believe what happened to Steve. I've always wanted to go to the reef and his passing makes me want to do it more. I would love to see the country that he was so passionate about.

I'll go there again anyway. Crossing a street on foot anywhere is a much greater danger than diving at the reef.

What happened to Steve is extremely rare. I think Steve would be really disappointed if what happened to him put people off experiencing what he loved so much.

I just traveled to Australia a couple of months ago, diving there is usually safe they provide you with stinger suits.. aside from sting rays, the sting of the jelly fish is also very harmful (causing i think even more deaths) I think diving at the Great Barrier Reef is an experience of a lifetime and almost everything worth doing involves some sort of risk.

Sure I would still want to travel. It would still frighten me a little, but it could have happened to ANYONE. Including you and I. Steve knew what risks he was taking. But what this does teach you is to be on your guard and just come to see the beauty. Not mess around with it. I hope you have a great trip too! I hope to go visit Austrailia when I'm older. It bites living in Ohio,U.S.

Australia is beautiful. And the diving there is a must.

Rob
Not at all. In fact, it's creeped me out thinking about my Aunt down scuba diving this week.
